I have no friends, no mother, no life. Nothing.
When I was born my mother died and I nearly died too, my dad hates me because he says I killed her. Everyone at school things thinks that i'm a bad girl and no one wants to know me. When ever I walk past the kids at school they hold their noses. I live in a one room apartment with my drunk dad in New York. We don’t have a kitchen to cook in or a bathroom to go to the toilet or shower in. Its just a little room with two small mattresses a tiny tv and a beanbag. I have pitch black hair with red hilights. I smell a bit because the only way that I can shower is to tip a bucket of freezing cold water over my head. My Dad doesn’t have a real job, he just works at night at the supermarket sometimes, but all his money goes to his beer fund. After school I have to pick strawberries in the fields. I only get paid ten dollars a day but it pays for food.
My Dad didn’t come home last night but its better not to have him around. I went to the corner shop to get a bag of chips for my breakfast I sat on the bean bag and quietly ate my chips while staring at the walls blankly. I couldn’t be bothered to go to school so I just sat on my mattress. I got dressed and went to pick the strawberries, my back was really sore but I needed the money. As I was walking there I saw Nelly and Jill.
“So Dragon, to sick to go to school but well enough to go for a walk?”They always call me dragon because of my flame red highlights in my hair.
“So smelly Nelly, been rolling in mud lately?” It wasn’t a good come back so I run away.
Once I get there I picka few strawberries and shoved them in my mouth.
“Oi! Megan that’s the second time I’ve seen you eat strawberries this week.” yells Chris, a big man with tattoos on his face and arms. He was a snitch so I crack a fake smile at him and continue to work. When I had picked two hundred strawberries I went home. When I got there Dad still wasn’t home, he normally got home so he could have a sleep before he went back to the pub. I didn’t care because he doesn’t do anything for me any way so I would be fine without him.
