Peter hated Father's Day. He doesn't remember spending it with his dad, and then once uncle Ben died it felt as though a grey blanket had been thrown over the whole day. It seemed pointless.
But now he had Tony and he really wanted to tell Tony to have a Happy Father's Day. But what if Tony thought that was weird? Peter didn't know if him and Tony were there yet. He thought they were but maybe Tony didn't.
When it was time to go to the tower Peter still hasn't decided whether or not to tell Tony to have a Happy Father's Day. And all of this worrying was setting his nerves on fire.
"Tony?" Peter said walking into the penthouse where Friday had said Tony wanted to meet him.
"Oh hey Pete, I thought we could just have a movie night tonight. Movies, snacks, drinks, you know all the normal stuff. You ok with that?" Tony said, walking into the living room from the kitchen. In truth May had told Tony that Father's Day was hard for Peter, so Tony had decided to take it easy for the night.
"Oh, yeah that sounds great." Peter said with confusion evident in his voice. They usually only have movie nights on Fridays, not Sundays, "What movie are we gonna watch?"
"Whatever you want bud,” Tony walked back into the kitchen before peeking his head back out, "Oh and May said you could stay the night tonight if you want to."
"I'd love to, thanks Tony. So are you gonna get the snacks while I set the movie up?" Peter followed Tony into the kitchen as he talked
"Yeah, I'll be in there in a sec."
Peter ultimately decided on watching 'Meet the Robinson's' as the first movie, and soon the pair were sitting eating snacks as they watched their movie.
"Happy Father's day Tony," Peter suddenly blurted out, "I mean uh shit I'm sorry if that's weird or something, cause I know you're not actually a dad so I guess it doesn't count but you're like the closest thing to a dad I have, no wait that's even weirder. Um I'm sorry. That was stupid." Peter looked down at the ground, blushing and with angry tears beginning to build up.
Tony pulled Peter into his chest, hugging him tightly, "Thanks kid, you're the closest thing I have to a son alright. You're part of the family bud."
Peter grabbed onto Tony's shirt, pushing the side of his face into Tony's shoulder, "Thank you so much Tony, thank you for just being here. You don't even know how much it means to me."
Peter turned himself so he was curled up against Tony's side, his head resting on Tony's chest. While Tony's hand calmly ran through his hair.
"You're my kid Pete, I love you alright. You can come to me anytime, I'll always be here for you," Tony said, wrapping his arm around Peter's shoulder.
"I love you too Tony. And I'm here for you too, even if I am just a kid."
Tony leaned down and kissed the top of Peter's head, holding on to him just the slightest bit tighter.
The pair continued watching their movie. And in the morning Pepper walked in to find the two asleep on the couch, Peter laying on Tony's chest with a blanket draped over them. She walked away with a smile, and a new favorite picture of the two.
___________________A/N: This is kinda short but I thought it was cute. And I based this off of my feelings towards Father's Day cause I have really mixed feelings on it and haven't actually told anyone happy Father's day in like years so.
