Secret Mission (4)

The following day Natsu woke before me and to my surprise he cleaned the house and made me breakfast? from what I knew of him so far this was certainly out of the ordinary.

"What did you break" I simply said, he threw his hands up in defence shaking his head ferociously.

"I didn't break anything Luce, promise....its just a lot happened yesterday and I wanted to make it up to you..." that's an understament, a lot did happen and I was certain today held more craziness that went by the name 'Fairy Tail'

"That's sweet of you Natsu, there was no need though" I smiled sweetly at him couldn't help but notice how cute he was in the mornings... I shook my head hoping those kind of thoughts would go away, I sat down to begin eating my breakfast not knowing what the day would bring.

Natsu and I got dressed and made our way to the guild, Happy went ahead of us mumbling something about 'fish' as we walked towards the doors we noticed a carriage parked outside, it had the magic council insignia on it. Natsu stiffened up as he noticed it, I held his hand tightly now slightly worried. We walked through the doors, guards stood all around the room and at the front was a man who looked significantly different compared to the others, clearly he was the one in charge. He was talking to the master not sure about wat but it seemed to have the master on edge, the man quickly turned around noticing us and he raised a finger.

"Arrest that man immediately!" his voice echoed through the hall and within a second guards separated me from Natsu and pinned him to the ground, fear laced across his face. He looked at me but it wasn't fear he had, he showed pain.

"I trusted you..."

those words rang in my head, he thought I told the council? I cant really blame him, I'm the first person he told his secret to and he following days the council are here to cart him away. I was to afraid to say anything however in case this was a misunderstanding, I simply looked at him hoping my eyes could tell him the truth but he simply looked to the ground tear flowing down from his eyes.

An hour has passed since the guards dragged Natsu of, there was alot of shouting, people saying 'were getting him back right?' and 'why did they take Natsu?' was among the many thoughts people had. The master sat in silence not knowing what to tell the guild, he looked towards me gesturing I go up to talk to him so I did as requested.

"You know his secret don't you Lucy?" I was shocked to hear this, I thought I was the first he told. Master clearly noticed my shock and continued "he never told me Lucy but the signs are pretty obvious when you see them, few others know: Erza, Mira and Gildarts" That explains what Erza said yesterday I thought.

"How did the council find out?" he looked towards the ground at this question slightly shaking his head.

"Cruel world we live in Lucy, it used to be ruled by his 'kind'" I knew he didn't mean that in a harsh way, guess he doesn't want anyone else knowing just yet "The council has been hunting them for years and over time they have devolved effective ways of finding and catching them" he looked back at me showing worry across his whole face "They arnt just going to kill him Lucy, they will torture him and make an example of him for the world to see..." this was horrible to hear no way we would sit by and watch this happened right?

"Master? what do you want me to do" I tried my best to show confidence as I said that, he was surprised by my sudden outburst.

"Lucy.... you and Erza are the only two who know about Natsu's 'condition' so you are the only ones I can send on this job" he pinched the bridge of his nose "I would send Gildarts as well but like always he isn't away on a job."

I glanced over at Erza who nodded at me in agreement and made her away towards the door, I assume to prepare. I looked back at the master "so what are we going to do exactly master?" I said with a little less confidence than before, he looked up and smiled.

"You are going to break into the councils dungeon and save our young Natsu" what! was all I could think, surly we could negotiate or something right? as if reading my mind the master continued. "this will of course make him a fugitive from the council and we cant allow this prison break to be linked back to our guild so you must be carful, understood?" I nodded turning and walking out the door hoping to catch up to my scarlet haired companion.

"Natsu.....wait for me, I'm coming...."
