"Go wisely and slowly. Those who rush stumble and fall." - William Shakespeare.
The quote from the wise poet was written on the whiteboard, arrows flowing out extending the discussions of my classmates' thoughts. A spider diagram on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
"Go wisely and slowly. Those who rush stumble and fall. Can anyone tell me from Romeo and Juliet the theme of this quote?" Mr. Starr asked the class, with only a couple of students raising their hands to answer the question while I wonder my eyes around the classroom looking at the clock "1:50 pm". I sigh, how long left of this boring English lesson.
"The theme is conflict." Raquelle snickered out loud.
"Mr. Starr is asking for a more detailed answer than conflict Raquelle. Yes, it's conflict but why? Well because Friar Laurence is advising to Romeo in Act 2 Scene 3 to think very carefully and wisely for his decision of asking Juliet to marry him." Ashley declared, gleaming with full confidence in front of the class.
"Correct. That's why you're a star pupil Ashley" chuckled Mr. Starr.
I swear if they keep flirting, I might have some good content of blackmail to sue this god damned teacher. The class discussion kept going on and I didn't want to be part of a third wheel love confession. And besides who likes Romeo and Juliet anyway. I stared out of the window while the discussion went on. Thunder clouds started to cave in, it was raining - very heavily. I didn't even bring my umbrella to Uni today. What bad luck do I have now?
"Skyler, you can stay behind after class." Mr. Starr exclaimed.
"Huh?" I mumbled. What now? What did I even do this time? Forget my homework probably, though I'm the first to get it done and hand it in time. I must be getting even more bad luck.
Finally, the bell rang letting us know its time for lunch. I wonder how Willow's class went. Everybody left the class leaving Mr. Starr and myself...alone...in a classroom...together.
"You wanted to see me after class sir?" I said while sitting down on the desk next to his.
"Hmm. Yes, I did. Skyler, you seem to wander off in awe in my lessons. Care to explain that you miss half of the lesson and write down nearly nothing in your books?!" he scolded.
"Well, you see... Mr. Starr... I-" I was continued to say until I was cut off by a pair of lips of mine, passionately kissing me. WHAT IS HAPPENING?! I push Mr. Starr off me, regaining my standing position and running out the classroom door to find my best friends. Why did he kiss me? I'M A MERE STUDENT!! I immediately met up with Willow and Blaze as they were seated down inside the cafeteria.
"Wassup bitches! You'd never guess what I just went through."
"Oh no, what happened this time Skyler." Willow sighed.
"I just got kissed by my English teacher. and I swear to god, I'm going to get him sued for that."
"YOUR WHAT!!" Willow practically shouted, making everyone turn their heads to our table. Thanks for that Willow, you got the whole University looking at us.
"That's it, I'm asking if you can move to my English class instead." Blaze insisted.
"Anyway... how were your classes?" I said trying to change the subject of my last lesson.
"Meh."
"Alright."
"Okay then... What do you guys want to do later after the final class?" I said and sighed. "Like you guys coming to mine for a sleepover or what?".
"Yeah, we'll come, right Blaze?"
"Definitely. I mean it'll be easier anyway since we have the same class next and we can all walk back to yours Skyler."
We chatted a little more, ate our lunches, laughed at the lame dad jokes Blaze was babbling about. It was almost time for the bell to ring for our last class of today until I heard the quietest "Run" echo through my ears. I immediately looked around to nobody standing near me. What was that about? "Run" why? I thought to myself. Just then, the bell rang for the last lesson of the day followed by a lightning strike, and four terrifying murderous screams that echoed through my ears only.
"Woah, check out that lightning strike." Someone said walking away to go to class.
"Hey, earth to Skyler. Skyler!!" Willow waved her hand in front of my face, dragging me back into reality.
"Hey, you okay? You look like you just saw a ghost."
"I'm fine..."
Why did I just hear four screams and nobody else?
Walking into the final class, and oh no its Mr. Starr, my English teacher. Don't tell me he is the substitute teacher. I made sure for me and my friends to sit at the very back of the classroom, so far away from him. Mr. Starr looks around the classroom and catches a glimpse of me while smirking, his smirk faded as my friends follow behind me.
"Mr. Starr is the English teacher that kissed me last period."
"No fucking way. Well, we got you, girl, we won't let him near you. that disgusting bastard." Willow comforted me.
The lesson went on, while there was a strange glimpse of eyes looking at me throughout the whole class. Finally, it was the end of the day and before Mr. Starr could ask me to stay behind again, my friends and I dashed out of the classroom as quickly as possible. Forgetting that it's pouring down with rain. Fortunately, my mom was picking us up to take us back to my house.
We made it back to my house, got changed into our casual clothes and set up our little sleepover, turning on the tv to see the news...
"Today a strange lightning pattern has been seen in Oxford and London. Four students from Oxford University are missing. Police reports say there is no evidence to be found except for a letter. I'm Kelly Henderson and this is BBC News."
Four students from our University...MISSING??
"Skyler! Skyler! Skyler wake up! Skyler! Hey are you okay?! Earth to Skyler. Skyler!!"
My head...it hurts...
