"Mackenzie!" Shane's voice called from outside of the bathroom.

I wiped my face again as more tears ran down my face. I sighed and wiped my face again fixing my pony tail getting ready to leave. I rushed out of the bathroom ignoring him and leading in the next direction. Shane caught up and ran in front of me to block my way and grabbed me by my shoulder.

"Mackenzie!" He raised my face with his hands and I could almost cry as the know in my throat grew. "Caleb, here." He added.

I sighed relieved and smiled tears finally deciding to fall again.

"Hey," I chuckled awkwardly. He wrapped his arms around me as I silently cried into his chest. Good thing he wore a black shirt or I would've felt bad about the visible wet spots I left.

"I know. He's an asshole." He hugged me and cooed.

"Mhm." I nodded into his chest. He smelt very good might I add. And his chest was hard but comforting.

"Are you okay?" He asked holding me by my shoulders after he let me go.

"No." I grabbed his arms wrapping them back around me and sniffing him making him laugh.

When I had finished wiping my face in his shirt and stepped back, I noticed the whispers being flown around us.

"Is that Mackenzie hugging Shane?" A girl whispered loudly to her friend.

"Whoa. Yeah,"

"And I oop-"

"Wanna leave?" Caleb asked and I nodded solemnly.

"But I have to drop in the interview and I haven't written it." I sighed.

"We'll go out and get some fresh air to write it?"

"Okay but I'm not talking to Shane." We turned to leave.

"Leave the building or leave school?" I asked as we walked out.

"School."

"You're such a bad influence."

He chuckled but I knew Caleb was an angel. It's not like I hadn't done it before.

"But lemme guess you want me to ride on the death trap." I asked and he nodded.

"Fiiine." I drawl sniffing. "It's only because you're the one I trust."

We made our way past flying whispers and got onto the death trap. It wasn't half bad but I was still a little scared in my excitement. Though I definitely had hugged the life out of Caleb while he laughed at me.

We reached the park where Caleb and I met for the first time. He handed over a laptop from his messenger bag that I used to draft up the interview. He helped me go over my report and even gave me some useful pointers.

He explained some of his points in dept and the report was looking great. After about two hours were about to finish when the laptop died.

I liked at Caleb in worry. "This doesn't mean that-'

"No, don't worry, autosave is on. We just need to get the charger."

"Where is it?"

"At my apartment."

"So you have to go to your apartment?"

"If you want your project."

"Is it far?"

"Not really."

We got on the bike for the second time, this time easier that the first. I was able to appreciate the thrill this time and understood why people did this.

Caleb had an apartment in a large fancy building. We took the elevator in the development that looked as if designed for rich people. This was the first time I had been to his place and it was neater than I expected. I didn't want to be rude and ask but I wondered how come he had lived alone. Where were his parents?

I waited in the living room while he got the charger from his bedroom.

"Make yourself comfortable." He instructed.

We were on his couch which he had folded out into a bed mostly to make himself comfortable. I had started charging the laptop and was going over the last few details perfecting everything that needed to be done.

"Eeeh!" I giggled. "Caleb! " I warned.

"Sorry." He looked unapologetic after poking under my feet which tickled horribly.

"That's what you said the last five times!" I said and he shrugged.

"I'm bored. How far are you?" He insisted.

"Getting there." I typed a few letters. "Watch some TV."

He turned on the TV and ran his PS5 putting on a video game while I worked. He played strategically and very quietly unlike Jake who yelled at everything and everyone who came close to him when playing his game.

I emailed in the report and closed the laptop just watching Caleb be engulfed in the game. And of course he won. "Isn't this the arcade game? Can I try?" I asked. He hooked up the next controller and guided me through the game of slaughtering zombies.

I obviously wasn't as good as him so he let me win...alot. After that we decided to join forces and battle zombies together.

"Cover me!" I yelled at the screen as zombies were surrounding me.

He rushed over and killed a buttload of zombies while I snuck away. He could handle his own. I rushed into the palace while Caleb was distracted and took the jewel gaining us a win.

"Yes!" I yelled. "I did it." I yelled as the words "You WIN," popped up on the screen.

"Nice to see I'm chopped liver."

"Okay, I guess you participated." I joked.

"Yeah," he frowned. He closed his eyes and stood up. "I'm getting some water, want anything?"

"Yeah, I'll take some too please."

"Be right back." I switched the game to practice mode and started decapitating the undead.

"You're waiting, M'lady." He handed a glass to me from the couch.

"Thanks," I paused the game and stood up.

"Hmmm...I don't want you to feel uncomfortable but..." "I think you're bleeding." I watched him confused and looked where he was looking as a red stain appeared in front of my eyes...on my pants.

Flock. Out of all days.

Yeessss. I put the random period in. But we all had that time, haven't we?? Yes we have. Comment. Vote. How do you feel for her? This was a very short one though.
