Beaches

I stood on the shore staring at the endless expanse of different shades of blue. Birds were flying peacefully and the waves lapping lazily at my feet. I got lucky today because there was no one here. It was barren as the desert. I closed my blue and grey eyes taking a deep breath.  Oh, how I've missed this place. Last time I was here it was with them. No. I told myself I wasn't going to think about them. Not today. Today is my day. On this day and this day alone, I could be happy. I opened my eyes and looked up at the sky and smiled. "I can be happy today," I said with a smile and a small sigh. I looked back at the crystalline water and took my hair out of the ponytail it was in. then I took off my top to expose the swimsuit that was under it. "I can be myself today!" I exclaimed as I ran into the icy water.

I dived down into the darkness feeling the water move past me. I soon realized I wasn't a fish and had to go back up to the surface so I could breathe. Once I surfaced I wiped my hair out of my face. I heard a small whistle come from the shore so I turned to look. There I saw a little blonde boy standing and waving. I smiled slightly and waved back then motioned for him to join me. He smiled wider then began removing his shirt and jumped in. I couldn't help but laugh at his dorky attitude.

Suddenly there was a tap on my shoulder and a little giggle. "Hey there, witchy boy," I said with a smile.

"Howdy, demon women," He replied with a smile of his own.

I turned around and wrapped my arms around his small frame, "What are you doing here?" I asked tucking my cheek against his shoulder.

"I can't let my big sis be alone on our birthday, so that's why I'm here," He replied while wrapping his arms around me in a hug.

I lifted my head up and grabbed the sides of his face. "You aren't so bad, little bro," I said and leaned my forehead against his. 

"I love you, Elizabeth,"

"I love you too, Salem,"

Hello, my little dragons! I deeply apologize for the inactivity, I just haven't had much time or motivation to post anything. I have a few short stories that I'm still fleshing out, so hopefully, I will be able to get those out to you soon! Anyways, I'll stop rambling! Bye!
