Merida paced back in forth as she mumbled to herself. Not coming in terms with the pervious events she groan desperately, hands in her forehead. Her eyes fell upon the wall mirror in her bedroom. She saw her face was full of different emotions she couldn't quite catch."What are you thinking! What's happening to you!" She yelled at the mirror, her reflection bouncing it back at her. She stared at herself and no more than anything she wanted her mother beside her. She probably knew what she's been feeling and how to resolve it. She wanted her mother's warmth that she never thought she would miss. She wanted her mother's hand caressing her hair, telling her everything was going to be fine. It was true she never saw eye to eye with her mother but that didn't stop her from feeling love as a daughter.
"I want you here mum....I need you." She whispered softly, without realizing she saw tears forming in her reflection. What's wrong with me. She gave out a sniffle as she whipped her tears away. Her family and towns people would always admire her bravery, she had created this image of her as she grew up and since then her mentality has been like that of herself. She had always liked being adventurous, determined, open minded in possibilities but overall courageous. She always showed that side of herself even towards her and seeing herself in this state of vulnerability, it made her feel weak, at lost.A soft knock filled her ears. She quickly composed herself, whipping away tears and fixing her ruffled hair.
"Come in."
The doors opened, Mrs. Pots hopping right in.
"I heard what happened and wanted to make sure you're doing fine I also brought you chamomile tea to calm your nerves down."
"I'm fine, thank you."
Merida picked up the hopping little tea that had come in with Mrs. Pots, giving a sip at the warm liquid that filled her insides with delight.
"Are you sure you're alright dear, your face says otherwise."
Merida gave out a small cough at the tea pot's comment.
".....Y-Yes of course....I'm just....shaken up."
Mrs. Pots immediately knew something was up with the girl, her suspicion coming from Hiccup's state of emotion when she went to talk with him this morning. Now seeing the lass her brain clicked that there was more to this story than just a little "shaken up" excuse. Either way she didn't want to bother or intrude into something the young lass wasn't comfortable enough to share with her but she did want to leave the doors open just in case.
"I see.....well if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm right here dear. I might be an object right now but as a human my gray hairs say far more words of wisdom." Mrs.Pots gave a soft smile at her before turning to leave. Merida gave a small frown, thinking about the earlier event.
"Wait!"
Mrs.Pots stopped hopping turning to look at the young girl with another softer smile, trying to make the lass comfortable enough to tell her what's on her mind.
Merida thought for awhile but then concluded that she saw Mrs.Pots like a mother figure and maybe it was best to get everything off her chest by talking to someone close to her.
"C-can...I talk to you for sec." Merida hesitated on her words.
"Of course dear, I'm all ears." Mrs. Pots hopped back to Merida, facing her.
"I-I well........I think there's something wrong with me...."
"How so?" Mrs.Pots softy spoke, choosing her words carefully in order not to scare the young lass in front of her. A hesitated silence filled the air before Merida decided to speak.
"I.....just don't know what's wrong with me. I feel so conflicted. I know I need to help Hiccup break this curse but how! When! Where!" Merida glanced down fear that Mrs.Pots could see her glossy eyes.
"Are you sure that's all lass?"
Merida stayed silent for a while before looking at Mrs. Pots with tears streaming down her cheek.
"I don't know......I feel....so....confused."
"Are you really confused dear or are you......afraid."
Merida gave out a small gasp as her eyes widened.
"It's alright dear it's ok to be afraid. Tell me what's in your mind and I give you my word that it's going to be between you and me."
Silence filled the air for a while before Mrs. Pots decided to speak up.
"There's an old saying my grandfather once told me, it was something like; "you may not end up where you thought you where going but, you will always end up where you are meant to be."Mrs. pots soft voice soothed Merida's rambling mind like honey melting down your mouth...bitter but yet ...sweet.
Mrs. Pots smiled at the memory of her grandfather and for everything he had taught her.
"At first I didn't understand what he meant by it but as I grew older and eventually found myself in this situation, I came to realize I'm a tea pot stuck living in this castle heaven knows for how long but it also taught me what those words meant." The old tea pot gave out a small chuckle.
"It's been rough on Hiccup but either way I always took care of him. As for the reason I was meant to be here, I'm meant to support my dearest friends and family, no matter the cause. And watching Hiccup grow into a dashing young man disregarding what he did, his a truly amazing boy. And I couldn't be more proudly to say I'm honored to serve my king."
Merida gave a small smile at the old women's remark.
"But now the question is, what are you meant to do dear?"
Merida looked down on the floor avoiding any eye contact"I'm....meant to help Hiccup break this curse...but that's the thing I don't know how or even know where to start, I....just feel like I'm getting distracted!" Merida exclaimed.
"Why's that?" Mrs. Pots look at her intently.
"I....I...." Merida was lost in words.
"My dear, you have a hint where the direction of your heart is starting to head towards but you're afraid to realize it and your emotion will not let you see the answer you seek. It's okay to be afraid dear but never let fear decide your fate."
Mrs. pots gave out a small smile before hopping out her room with a small bow. Merida was left alone once again with her troubled thoughts but this time with what the old wise women had told her. Part of her wanted to admit what she had said was...true.
