if we never met

a night to remember

5 hours before it happened -7:00 pm

mirae + taehyung has been together for almost a year now. this happened to be their one-year anniversary & taehyung wanted to surprise her with a necklace custom made. it also meant his 6 paychecks he saved. taehyung was an average guy, nothing big but nothing small. he worked as a makeup artist under a small name called, Wide Blush. that's how he met mirae. mirae is a music producer for the big name, Bighit . she is recognized for her most intelligent writing and unique beats.

"where are we going?" mirae asked.
        "to the place when we first met." tae replied in a soft tone.

taehyung was acting suspicious but mirae had hopes to get proposed to.

as taehyung switched the lights of Wide Blush balloons, music, and decorations filled the room. big letters screamed happy one anniversary, mirae! mirae who was at lost of words could not but enjoy the moment. she looked over taehyung who made no expression.

"what's wrong?" she asked worriedly.
    "n-nothing. im sorry, this is suppose to be the best night for us" he smiled and twirled her around.
                     "let's do this" he said and carried her to the table with steak. mirae wondered how he afforded all of the expensive things in the room but she could only focus on his efforts of making this all come true.

-11:40 pm
after they celebrated the anniversary, taehyung asked her to close her eyes. he wrapped the necklace against her skin and it was beautifully placed. mirae opened her eyes and saw how dazzling it was.

"how much did this cost?!"
     taehyung replies, "i wanted the best for you."

"taehyung, whatever you do means a lot to me. thank you. i will always love you." she hugged him and then she felt it in her head. she started to get dizzy and wondered what was the cause. she had only drank one cup wine but it felt as if she consumed more than that.

"taehyung... i- i don't feel so good."

"you can't be happy with me, mirae. you deserve so much more."
                               
              "what are you saying? i am happy."

"no. you don't get it. i'm sorry but it's because i love you."

the doors swung open and wind gushed in. the place started to shake and a source of light got brighter and brighter. taehyung held mirae's hand and cried for help. he realized his mistake and didn't want to let her go.

"wait! NO. STOP. damn that twelve year old!"
