I'm running.
Running somewhere.
Where? I don't know.
I'm being chased by something.
It looks like? A dog maybe? That's one big dog.
I find safety, but it's too late.
I'm attacked.
I am dead.
Cold.
Lifeless.
And bloody.
My nightmare is quickly ended with a bright light blinding me. The dark scene is replaced with a figure in front of me.
My father.
"Get up you filth!" he spits at me.
I'm surprised he even got off the couch.
I look at the time and see its 9:30. Oh my god! I'm late for school!
I quickly scramble around for my stuff. I walk downstairs to the kitchen and grab a plain bagel and run out the door. Before I leave I see my dad passed out on the couch again.
My dad is very abusive, if you couldn't tell before, and an alcoholic. So everyday I'm hit and punched and thrown around and kicked. I've built my walls though. When I was little people picked on me because my mother left because of my dad. But that wasn't true. My dad does that stuff because my mom left. And also, they just got divorced. It really hurt. I didn't really have any friends. Just the occasional person that felt bad for me. But they didn't really feel bad for me. I don't even feel bad for me. I feel bad for my father.

"You're late!" Mr. Jonie said to me when I walked in. "I'm sorry sir, my alarm didn't go off!" I tried to explain. He sighs. "Save it for later." he says.
I sit down in my seat next to Summer Honeycott. The most popular girl in school. Most guys drool over her. And most girls will do anything to hang out with her. But I hate her.
It was when we were thirteen.
"Come on Summer! Seriously!" I cried out.
"Why? It's not like we're gonna get caught!" she tells me.
"You don't know that!" I say.
I look around for anybody, scared and praying to not be seen.
"Excuse me ma'am." I feel a hand on my shoulder.
I close my eyes and breath. When I turn around, I see a police officer.
"Y-Yes sir?" I ask him.
"You do realize this is private property right?" he asks raising his eyebrows, emphasizing the word "private".
"Yes sir. I'm really so-"
"THERE YOU ARE HUNTER!" Summer cuts me off. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"
"What are you talking about?!" I say frazzled.
"Miss? Is this your friend?" the officer asks Summer.
"Yes sir. I'm sorry if she's been any trouble." she says
"What?! This was YOUR idea!" I yell at her.
"Uh! I am offended! I would never do anything this bad!" she says motioning to the private property we were on.
"Well Miss...Hunter. Right?" the officer asks
"Yes sir." I say.
"I'm going to have to take you to the station. You're not being arrested, you'll just be in a holding cell until a parent or guardian can come pick you up." he says.
"Please no! I swear this wasn't my idea!" I say begging him.
"I'm afraid I can only say I saw you when I got here." he says with a sigh.
"But!-" I plead.
"No buts. Now please, get in the car." he says.
I slide into the passenger seat and look at Summer.
"How could you?!" I mouth.
She just walks away.
Let's just say I was in that holding cell a looooong time.
"You, Hunter?" Mr. Jonie says.
"What?" I say, coming out of the memory.
The class laughs.
"I said, try to solve this Algebra question." he says, motioning to the question on the board.
"Oh, uuhh, 2? I say. I'm not good at algebra, I didn't even solve the question.
"Correct...?" he says. But then his lips crack into a smile.
"Oh, well yeah." I say, pretending I solved the question so quickly.

"Meatloaf or chicken?" the lunch lady, Maggie, asks.
"Which ones edible?" I ask disgusted looking at them. She rolls her eyes.
"Chicken." I say, not wanting to get on her already irritated nerves.
I pay for my meal and go to my usual table. The one in the far corner that no one sits at. Yeah that's my table. I look beside me and see the Lord Of The Rings nerds. Talking about 'Frodo'. "Even they have friends!" I mumble silently to myself.
"Is this seat taken?" I hear.
I look up from my lunch to see a dark headed boy. He's motioning to the seat in front of me. I shake my head no. He sits down and looks at me.
"Can I? My names Andrew."
