Chapter 9: A Different Purpose (2000+) ( Saturday)

I changed into a dark blue jeans because it's the mall paired with a T-Shirt with a dog on it.

I alerted my mother I would be leaving and she congratulated me for 'finally making friends' whatever that meant.

I listened to some music on my walk to the mall because it honestly wasn't that far away, although it was a tiring and gruesome walk and all I could picture was Caleb's comforting back.

I reached a lil bit sweaty( Just a lil bit) and I texted Alex that I was in the food court; the most important part of the mall. I bought and ate some wings cooling down while I waited and he quickly me sometime after.

"Oh, you make me looked under-dressed." Alex joked and I smiled. He was wearing a grey Tshirt with a leather jacket and a jeans.

"You can only be born with this kinda fashion sense."

"I'm envious." He joked.

"I understand. This is the most fashionable style." I flipped my ponytail.

"If you say so." He encouraged me. " Wanna go catch a movie before we get something to eat?" He asked referring to the cinema in our mall guys. Of course, I already had wings but I definitely wasn't full.

"Sure," I shrugged.

We got tickets to see the new movie The Secret Life Of Pets 2 because I wanted to see it and Alex even offered to pay. Although I wanted to pay for my ticket like a good independent woman, my wallet was very thin.

During the movie, my unprepared self grew cold and it looked like a 90's stunt but it wasn't I assure you. The AC was blasting at maximum.

"You cold?" Alex asked and I turned and stared at him blankly, directly in his eyes. Then I slowly rubbed my shoulders three times for emphasis still watching him. He laughed and put his arms around my shoulder.

"You know you could just gimme your jacket." I whispered suggestively.

"You're not getting my jacket." I glared at him jokingly. He shook his head, raised up my chair handle and kept his arms around me pulling me into his shoulder as I balled up into the cinema chair. Not only would be not give me his jacket but he would pause to laugh at how I had to put the 3D glasses over my regular glasses. Whatever.

The movie finished and we went to eat and he finally gave me his jacket so I could cool down. We were walking out of the cinema, when I got a text.

Jake: I see you.

Me:....

Me: Jake, where are you?

Jake: I am everywhere.

Jake: I am the east, the west, and the south.

Jake: I am the air and the wind.

Jake: I am your eyes and your ears.

Me: Jake...

Jake: I'm not telling you but just know...

Jake: I'm watching

Me: that is kinda creepy. Why are you here?

Jake: I'm kidding. I'm at your house.

Me: you annoy me.

Jake: you better not be cheating on Shane.

Me: I don't owe Shane anything.
