Prologue
The demon smiled wide and gripped the teen with it's inhumane strength. The teen squirmed in the demon's hand as her arm felt like it was being crushed, just by brute strength. The teen boy stayed seated in the chair, a crazed smirk on his face.
"Go."
Chapter 1
Two years earlier
The 15-year-old girl walked into the classroom she's been dreading for months, now. It was December, almost Christmas. Not that she'd have anyone to celebrate it with anyway. She'd spend the entire holiday locked in her room. Or so she thought. She thought about the holiday as she took a seat at her assigned desk and she sighed, this was going to be a long and hard day, she could already tell.
The first class went exactly as planned, she'd get hate notes thrown at her, the teacher would never call on her, and she'd hate the entire class and want to leave. Next, though, was her favourite class. Band. She smiled, just thinking about the class. She'd get her violin and get to play along to the music, no talking, no hate, just wonderful, blissful, music. She walked into the auditorium, where she kept her violin, because that's where it sounded the best. She grabbed the medium sized case and pulled the violin out, playing a scale or two before walking into the music room, where everyone else was.
As the class played, she smiled and played every note close to perfect. She practiced these songs all the time, as often as she could. It was her getaway. She loved music more than she liked anyone else she had ever met.
"Hey, Emilee." She turned her head to look at her friend Liz. At least she thought she was her friend, they talked occasionally. Emilee smiled slightly.
"Hey, Liz. How's the clarinet?" She smiled and nodded.
"It's good." She spoke right before the bell rang and they both left, going their separate ways. She went through all her other classes the same as the first class. Gossip, getting made fun of, and almost no learning. She hated it, school was her least favourite place to go. She just wanted to graduate and be in an orchestra. She wanted to play for a living, play her violin because she just loved it so. But she couldn't. Her father wouldn't allow it. He wanted her to become a lawyer and bring more money into the family. He didn't even care for her, he just wanted her money. He was also a lawyer, and he said it was easy. Sure, maybe for him. She was smart, she could probably be a lawyer if she wanted to. But she didn't. She dreaded the day she would go to law school.
She walked home alone. It was about 6 blocks from the school, and she walked to and from school everyday. She didn't mind it, but she'd prefer if she didn't have to. She walked into the house, trying to rush into her room, but first, she saw her father. Enraged.
