LAMBDA Act 1: Betrayal

Betrayal: Part 7 (Finale)

When Sam had finally woken up, most of his armor was torn to shreds from the debris. His helmet was destroyed in the fall and he had sand in his face. He then looked around so see if he could spot Carver, but his vision was out of sync. Sam searched through the debris until he finally found Carver, standing on his own two feet with rebar sticking out of his stomach.

Sam: You just won't fucking die.

Carver: How could I possibly die when I have so much more to accomplish in this world.

Sam: You're fucking mad. You got millions of innocent soldiers killed in battle, because you wanted recognition, and for what? Some military advance? A little fame?

Carver: I wanted to rule the world. Maybe even the Galaxy.

Sam: Sorry, you what?

Carver: I planned on bringing this planet up from the ashes and into a new age. The strongest in our Galaxy. The universe!

Sam: You've really lost it.. Do you realize what you've done? You've made an enemy out of Earth! Eventually aliens are gonna come looking!

Carver: Let them look, I'll kill them all.

Sam: You and what army! We won, Carver! As we speak your little secret is being broadcasted to the world! All those people you got killed.. At least now their families can have some closure.

Carver: It doesn't matter now. The plan has been set in motion, and it can never be reversed.

Carver then pulls out the rebar as blood trickles out of his wound.

Carver: Whad'ya say, kid. One more fight?

Sam looks down at this sand, blood dripping from his eye and his wounds. He falls to one knee and coughs up blood.

Sam: Looks like I'm dying.

Carver: That makes two of us.

Sam: Even now I find myself wanting to prove myself to you. I'll prove how much I've grown by taking your life with my own hands.

Carver: That's more like it!

Sam stands up and limps over to Carver, throwing a sluggish punch to his face. Carver falls to the ground and hits Sam in the gut. Sam falls down in front of Carver, and punches him once again in the face. Carver's head falls down into the sand, just before he kicks Sam off of him.

Carver: I created you. I molded you into my shape. Into me. Now I will take that from you!

Just as Carver bears down with his knife on Sam, He grabs a piece of shrapnel and shoves it through Carver's gut. Carver drops his knife as Sam kicks him away.

Carver: That was a good shot, kid. But unfortunately for you, I wasn't alone.

Sam: What? It's just us here Carver. This is over!

Carver: Yes, it is. But not for me.

Just as Sam stood to his feet, he heard a loud bang in the area around them, followed by a sharp pain his chest. He stumbles a bit before falling to his knees. Sam had just been shot through the chest with a sniper rifle.

Carver: Even now, you're still standing somehow. You just wont die, will ya kid?

Sam couldn't make out any words, but instead fell to the sand. The sand felt cold this time. He could barely feel any heat coming off of the sand. Perhaps this was because he was dying, now.

Carver: You got here just in time.

John: It was only fair that I would be the one to kill my own son. He did betray us, after all.

Carver: Lets get out of here before his posse shows up. We have work to do.

Carver and John quickly leave the area, leaving Sam in the sand. An airship lands in front of Sam moments later followed by people quickly getting out.

Ariane: Sam!!

Ryan: Shit this doesn't look good!

Ariane runs to Sam's side and turns him upright, immediately noticing the missing eye and the hole in his chest.

Ariane: I'm sorry.. I wasn't here.

Ryan: Ms. Blackwell, I need you to stand back and let me do what I can.

Sam regains consciousness for just a moment and he reaches his hand out for Ariane, then the others. After that his vision kicks off and he blacks out.
