Once upon a time, there was a girl named Wendy Darling who lived in London. She was the oldest of her two brothers John and Michael. Wendy's parents decide to go out on a date that night after tucking their children in bed. "All windows must be shut closed at night" was the number one rule in the house. Legend says that "there's a shadow that creeps in the room at night and takes children." But some children just thought of it as a myth.
Wendy woke up covered in sweat, "Why is it so hot?" She questioned herself. She decided to open the window to let in the cool breeze. She then went to lay back down in her bed. Right when she closed her eyes, they soon shot back open after something loud hit her desk. When she looked at the figure, it was a young boy with red hair rubbing the top of his head. The boy's light brown eyes came eyes to eye with Wendy's blue eyes.
"Peta?" She sat up in bed, "Is that you?" Peter was an imaginary friend to all children but as soon as they grew up, they'll forget his name and identity. Grown ups would call him, "the shadow." "Wendy!" Peter hopped up with joy, "Boy, am I glad to see you!" Wendy climbed out of bed and rushed to hug him, "What are you doing here?!" she cried with joy. She hasn't seen him for a long time since her window was always closed. Peter hugged her, "Oh, Wendy" he cried out, "It's just terrible!"
She pulled away from him, "What is?" He took off his hat, "Well, you're turning thirteen tomorrow." Wendy twirled around, "Yeah, isn't it exciting!" "No!" shouted Peter pulling his hat down over his head, "You'll forget about me like everyone else!" "Oh heavens no!" Wendy's face expression turned sad, "I would never-" Peter quickly cut her off and turned his back towards her, "that's what they all say..." "Oh, Peta" Wendy reached out her hand to place it on his shoulder. "Unless..." he quickly swirled around and grasped tightly onto her hand.
"Unless, what?" Wendy looked at him confused. "Unless, you come to Neverland with me!" Wendy gasped, "I've always dreamed of going there!" Wendy's face lighten with excitement, "But you said I couldn't go there." She crossed her arms and turned her head in the opposite direction of Peter while pouting. Peter laughed, "I said you couldn't go there until it's the night before the day you turn thirteen!" "And that night is tonight!" she jumped gleefully.
Peter flew to the window ledge and stood there staring at the brightest star in the sky, "You know Wendy... Once you go to Neverland, you can never come back." Wendy looked at her two brothers that's been peaceful sleeping through this whole conversation. She laughed on the thought that she had forgotten their presence. "How are they able to sleep through all this noise?" She whispered. He chuckled "Well, I just sprinkled some pixie dust on them so they wouldn't wake up."
She walked over to each of them and planted a kiss on their forehead. "Wendy, it's almost midnight." He he reached out his hand, "Please come with me." She looked at him, "Well, you're the only friend I have and I don't want to lose you." She took one step in his direction, "I've always felt lonely and lost until I met you." she took another step in his direction. "Wendy." groaned Peter while switching his gaze at the clock tower know as the "Big Ben" and Wendy. Her legs being to tremble, "I-I want to come with you!" Wendy shouted and sprinted towards Peter, grabbing his hand. Peter shouted with thrill and flew out the window holding Wendy in his arms. "I'm so glad you're coming with me!" Wendy hugged him while widely smiling. "But here's the scary part." Peter let out a nervous laugh. "The what?" Wendy tilted her head in confusion.
Peter pushed Wendy out of his arms. "Peta!" She screamed as her eyes widened with terror. She kicked and her hands reached out for him. "You have to believe!" Peter shouted "Believe that you can fly!" Wendy closed her as she shedded tears. "I must believe. I must believe. I must-" Dong! Dong! Dong! Rang the Big Ben.
Wendy opened her eyes to a bright light. "T-TinkerBell!" TinkerBell was a small pixie with blonde hair that was pulled up in a bun and eyes that were the same color as Wendy's. She blinked on and off the light that shines brightly around her. "I was never able to see you before but now I finally can!" Tink flutter around her as dust fell upon Wendy's body. "I'm flying!" Cried Wendy as her body lifted in the air, "I'm flying!" She soared around Peter with her arms spread out wide like an airplane. Peter slowly lowered to the ground with tears in his eyes. TinkerBell picked a flower from a flower pot and gave it to Peter. "Thanks, Tink" he gently pulled it from her hand and placed it on the floor. "That's just silly!" laughed Wendy. "It may be to you but not to me" he wiped his tears away with his arm. "Now!" he took her hand while smiling brightly, "follow meee!" They all flew to the second star to the right.
"Wasn't dinner just lovely dear?" giggled Mrs. Darling while clinching onto her husband's arm. "Well, it was and the steak was quiet heavenly." They both stopped in front of their house and shared a kiss at the door, "I couldn't agree more" smiled Mrs. Darling. Her husband reached in his pockets for the house key, "Maybe when we get settled in bed, I can have my dessert, hmm?" She responded to him with a purr. Mr. Darling patted his pockets, "I left the damn keys in the house!" Mrs. Darling rolled her eyes, "As usual. Luckily, I keep a spare key in the flower pot." She walked around the corner of the building, "Honey, you need to start-" She began to scream from the top of her lungs. Her hands clinched onto her cheek as she took a step back. Tears fell down her cheek as she stood there in shock and horror. What she saw was her beloved daughter's pale, lifeless body. Blood poured out her cracked skull surrounding her head that laid in a puddle of red. There was a beautiful red rose in her hair that glowed brightly. Wendy body laid there smiling with her eyes closed as if she's experiencing a magnificent dream.
