Chapter 2: Care (ケア)

The demon slayer corps has around several hundred members. It's organization unrecognized by the government.

Yet its existed since ancient times, and we continue to hunt demons today. But as for who's leading the demon slayer corps, remains a mystery.

Sakonji had a word with tanjiro about how the demon corps, while you were with sakonji to give a bit of knowledge about it.

"I am the trainer. I literally train swordsmen. There are many trainers, and each of them train their pupils with their own regimen in their location"

"Tanjiro, to join the demon corps, you have to survive the final selection process held on Mt. fujikasane. Now whether or not you're eligible for the final selection is up to sakonji-san" you said.

Another day, and tanjiro is training again off in the forest.

Sakonji is asks you to place more difficult traps for tanjiro day by day since there was improvement coming out of him.

You sometimes wonder if you went a little overboard.

At dawn, you would watch tanjiro swing a sword repeatedly up to 1,000. As soon as he gets to the point, sakonji tells him to do another 500 more.

Tanjiro soon died inside once he heard that. To be honest you found him amusing to just seeing his reactions.

Every time at night, whenever tanjiro was done with training, you see light flickering softly in his room. And you couldn't help yourself but see what he was doing.

He would always write in a journal, every night. There was one time he couldn't keep his eyes open as he was trying his best to write down some things.

You smiled softly at him and slide the door back softly.

Next day sakonji was teaching tanjiro about swords, how they break easily, how it's strong vertically, and weak horizontally.

Swords are what's meant to applying force on to them along to which direction your aiming it to. They have to be the same.

Another thing that sakonji said to tanjiro that almost made you laugh was, "if you ever damage the blade, in other words, break it, he'll call me to break his bones" in a threatening tone he said.

But you knew that he'll keep working hard. For his sister's sake.

Next day was very interesting. Now tanjiro was combat training with sakonji, and he did nothing but fall each time when sakonji had the chance.

Tanjiro weld a sword while sakonji didn't. The problem you saw was tanjiro charging forward without any planning.

Sakonji would always throw him around when he had the chance. You admire sakonji a lot and how strong he is for an old man.

"Nezuko! I am water!"
Tanjiro was trying to hold still beneath the waterfall. Though he sadly got consumed by it.

More and more, you started to get use to his idiotic acts.

It's been six months now, and sakonji called in a doctor to check on nezuko.

Tanjiro must be really worried about her. So the doctor checked on her right away, and said that nothing was wrong.

Tanjiro would check up on nezuko every time, and you saw his worried look. He would never stop checking.

You wanted to comfort tanjiro and tell him everything will be okay, but you couldn't get yourself to do it.

Why were you so weak with trying to comfort people to the best possibilities?

One day, hopefully soon you'll have strength to do so properly.
