4. Demon factory

            Zack's POV:
I woke up early. For a second there i was wondering where i was. I still can't get used to my new cell. There isn't that much of a diference between cells, it's just that i spent years on the same bed and can sence something diferent.

The first thing being me waking up by myself. Usually the first one up would be Logan. He would jump on my bed until im up. Too bad that won't happen again. I turn to see S awake and getting ready.

'Oh yea. We were planing on escaping.' i remember and smile to myself. Then look back at the ceiling.

'Might as well start getting ready myself' i got up and started my morning routine. Nothing special, just waking myself up and showering, then going to the lab.

Once we got in the lab S was the first one to be chacked, i was third. While i waited i remembered what i was supposed to do. I saw S get out of the lab, her eyes were fixed on doctors.

Unbeliveable! If she didn't tell me i would've never guessed. She was keeping an eye on almoust everyone here, but in a way that nobody notices. I observed the way she did that. She camuflaged spying in her personality. I should do the same. Spy in my own, unnoticable way.

My turn in the lab. After some bodymeasuring tests i sat on a chair and waited for dr. Luke to give me some vitamins.

He was rather robotic kond of man. His moves seemed so unatural. He was my doctor 3 days a week. Not easy to anger, but not easy to please eather. He is gonna be a real pain to figure out.

After i finish and exit the lab, we go to COLOSEUM. In a waiting room i started talking to S. I never talked like this to her before. She was always so distant, the absolute strongest and the smartest. I sometimes doubted if she was even human. But now i see that she is no diferent from us other kids.

Wonder what is her real name tho. Everyone calles her S44, i call her just S, for short. But i heard Lea always called her S too. Does she even have a name?

My code is A19. I need to get it to A+ rank soon or else i won't survive for much longer. But i need to make an escape plan too.

Dr. Marly entered the room and then led us to COLOSEUM field. It's forest again, i love nature based fields. They are my speciality. We got seperated in two groupes. S and I went west and the other two went east.

S was planting some traps for monsters while i fought any that got in our way. She is good. The way she places traps is awsome, like she knows exactly where and how monsters will move. I should watch and learn. We go downwind to mask our sent and any sound we make would have less efect.
'Come to think of it-'

"Where do you think this wind comes from? Since we are underground and all." S asked me.

"I was just thinking the same." I said as i looked up" they probablie have some devices for that" i say and she nodded.

"The wind always comes from north side of COLOSEUM. Did you notice?" She asks and i look at her shocked.

"Isn't there where also m-" i started.

"Monsters come from?" She interuptes my question. "Yes" and answears it.

"So when-" i wa sabout to ask, but again...

"Tomorow" she answears. "We are going north to inspect it tomorow" then she finaly turns her head and looks at me" Better prepare yourself" she warns me and i nod.

'Is she reading my mind? Or did she know what i was about to ask even before i knew it?' I thought as i ran. She is one mysterious girl.

"You are just that easy to read." She says without even looking at me.

"Please stop doing that." I said with forsed smile.

"Then stop allowing me." She says breafly and speeds up, running in front of me now.

I see. So that is the kind of skill needed to be S rank. Not just your physical ability, poweres and strategy, but otherworldly observation ability also. I have long way to go if i think of being an S rank. To think she is that rank since she was 7 years old is...unbeliveable.

We finished the COLOSEUM test and went to library. There we made a plan for tomorow. I have a feeling that she is going slower with her plan just because i need time to ajust.

"Did you plan to do this plan today?" I ask.

"Yes. But no need to rush. The sooner the better, but, i can't have you under more preasure then you can take." She answears mursilessly.

"Please tell me this kind of plans as soon as you think to execute them. I promise i will be ready for everything." I say to protect my dignity.

"Don't worry i will, this was just this once. But you should start observing things a bit faster, that would help me explain and spear us some time." This girl is just....cruel.

"I'll keep that in mind." I say defited.

"Depending on what we find out tomorow, we are going to start making our escape plan acordingly." She says while looking in her hands.

"Yes." I softly answear"Now lets get on with decoding that" i say and we exchange looks and nod.

And so night came, and morning after it. Before COLOSEUM i go over our plan mentaly.

-first we go south/ downwind.
-then we make our clones while in the same time we give them our power measuring devices.
-then we go north and investigate
-come back and do our norm on devices so that nothing looks suspicious.

I mentaly prepare for the best....and for the WORST case scenario that i could come up with. Still hopeing that it won't came to that.

Doctor called us in and we entered. Plan officialy started. We went south and made our clones without much problem. We gave them our devices and ran north. Once we got there we saw some wind making mashines that one moment worked fast, then slow and in one moment they wouldn't work at all.

"Wierd." I hear S say.

"Hm?" I question.

"I thought they would use something....better. This is not what i expected. That just means that what is behind this is what their atention is concentrated on." She says while moving a part of the bush we were hiding behind and pointing on one enterence.

The moment she did that, like on que, monster came out. We hid and let it pass us. Then we sneeked inside. We saw a lot of wierd glass tubes filled with some weird liquid. They were huge and there was some kind of supstance growing in each. Supstance in a tube closest to us was the smallest. They grow bigger as we go. And then there were broken glass tubes in the end.

"As we go further of the enterence in tubes there is less liquid and this wierd supstance is bigger." She said, i noticed that too. Then in the last tube, i swear, the supstance moved.

"Let's hide here." I whispered. And we hid behind some empty tubes covered with black cloth.

We watched as the glass of the last tube broke and a monster came out of it. So that is what thet supstance was. So that is how they are made. Now it all makes sence.

'This is a demon factory!?'
