They all exited the truck. Daryl, Avery, Rick, T-Dog, and Glenn were the ones who came back for Merle. Daryl stayed close to Avery’s side, he’s not sure why he was doing so, but he was.
‘Merle first or the guns?’ Rick asked Glenn.
‘Merle. We ain’t even havin’ this conversation!’ Daryl told Rick. Avery scoffed at Rick, still upset over the fact he just left him there.
‘We are!’ He shot back. He turned to Glenn, ‘You know the geography. Merle or the guns?’
‘Merle. He’s closer.’ He told Rick.
They soon entered the department store that Merle was in. Rick put his hand up, signaling for everyone to stop. He looked at Daryl, then pointed at a lone walker.
‘Ye are one ugly skank.’ Daryl muttered before shooting an arrow into the walker’s skull. Avery smirked at Daryl and Daryl smiled slightly at her before continuing their way to Merle.
They were at the door to the roof that held Merle. T-Dog cut the chain and pulled it off. Daryl kicked the door open.
‘Merle! Merle!’ He screamed running to where Merle was, but Merle wasn’t there. All that there was was the handcuffs, a saw, and a hand that once belonged to Merle.
‘No! NO! NO!’ Daryl screamed, his voice breaking a little more with each scream. Avery watched from afar as her best friends older brother broke down. He lost his baby brother a long time ago; he can’t lose his big brother.
Daryl raised his crossbow to T-Dog’s head, Rick raised his gun to Daryl’s head, and Avery raised her gun to Rick’s. Rick looked at her in disbelief.
‘Put the gun down. He ain’t gonna shoot him for crist sakes. He just lost his fuckin’ brother because of ye guys. Leave him alone.’ She told Rick. Rick nodded, putting his gun down, Avery followed suite in doing so. ‘Come on Dare, get that crossbow out of T-Dog’s face. Come on.’ She told him, putting a hand on his arm. He slowly bowed his head, dropping his crossbow from T’s face. He looked at Avery, then back at the ground where Merle’s hand laid. He turned to face T-Dog.
‘Ye… Ye got a dew-rag or somethin’?’ He asked him. T-Dog handed him his dew-rag. Daryl went over to his older brother’s hand, picking it up by the pinky finger. ‘I guess the saw blade was too dull for the pipe or handcuffs.’ He examined Merle’s hand a little more closely. ‘Ain’t that a bitch…’ He placed the hand in the dew-rag, wrapping it up. He took a deep breath as he put it in Glenn’s backpack.

They sat around Glenn, listening to his plan on how to get the bag of guns.
‘Here’s the tank, here’s the bag of guns.’ Glenn placed a crumbled sticky note there. ‘Avery and Daryl will be here.’ He pointed to an alley around the corner from the tank. I’ll be with them. Their weapons are the quietest.’
‘You have us elsewhere?’ Rick asked him.
‘You and T-Dog, right. You’ll be in this alley.’ He pointed to an alley two blocks away.
‘Two blocks away? Why?’ Rick questioned Glenn.
‘Because if I get cut off by walkers then I just come to you guys then back to them.’ Everyone nodded at the plan.
‘Hey kid. What’d ye do before all this?’ Daryl asked.
‘Delivered pizzas. Why?’ Glenn told them. Everyone shared a look of impress before they set off.

Daryl and Avery stood in the ally waiting for Glenn to come back. They glanced back and forth but neither of them said anything. The silence was killing Avery.
‘Hey Dare… Look, I’m sorry-’ Daryl shook his head, cutting her off.
‘Don’t. Not here. Not now. I wanna talk about it, just not right now.’ He told her. He felt he could trust her, tell her how he felt. He wanted to tell her so many things, but now wasn’t the time.
They heard footsteps behind them and they both spun around to face the stranger.
‘Wooh Wooh! Don’t shoot!!’ He screamed.
‘Shut the fuck up!!’ Avery growled at him. The boy started yelling something in Spanish.
‘Yer gonna bring the geeks down on us!’ Daryl screamed. Suddenly two men came out of nowhere and jumped on Daryl, one kicking him and one hitting him with a bat. Avery jumped on one of their backs, beating the shit out of them.
'Grab her arms!’ The one screamed. He did as he was told and Glenn appeared with the bag of guns. The two men ran for the bag but Avery went after them, trying to kill them. Daryl shot an arrow in one of their asses, but they ran, leaving the bag of guns, but taking Avery.

Avery stood around an old man having trouble breathing, waiting for an elder lady to get back with his medicine. Someone was helping him take some deep breaths.
The lady and a few men came back but Avery didn’t pay any attention.
‘What is this?’ Avery snapped her head to see Rick, T-Dog, Glenn, and Daryl.
‘Asthma attack.’ She replied.
‘We thought you were getting eaten by dogs!!’ T-Dog exclaimed, still upset by the situation. Avery smirked and looked behind her to the three small dogs sitting in a dog bed. The four boys rolled their eyes and followed G to another room where they could talk.

They five were running to their camp after finding their van missing. They heard gun shots in the distance, at their camp. Avery took off running faster, fearing the worst.
‘Avery! Slow down a bit!!’ Daryl hollered after her. Avery could run fast, even being a smoker. She ran faster than anyone she knew and she could run longer than anyone.
They came into camp to see walkers everywhere. Everyone started shooting, taking walkers down left and right. The last walker fell and Avery looked around frantically.
‘ALEX!’ She cried out, looking for her younger brother.
‘I’m right here.’ He called out from behind her. He wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly.
‘I remember my dream now… Why I was digging…’ Jim stated out loud.
