A New Description

"GoodMorning Kavian" said my overly excited co-assistant Megan.
"Morning Megan, how are you ?" I asked sitting my coffee on my desk
"Well I'm not one to gossip" she started
Actually she is one to gossip if you want any of your business around you tell Megan . That is why I'm always doing the bulk of all of our work , because she's to busy sending chain emails about who's dating who . But I let her continue as I powered on my desk top .
"Well I'm not one to gossip but I heard that the Executive and his assistant were both fired . I don't know what for. I also heard that the CEO of the company is stepping in because of all of the rumors that they haven't been keeping up with the work load and clients aren't happy."
Honestly I stopped paying attention a long time ago but once I saw her looking at me for a response. I simply replied
"Interesting"
"Aren't you a least bit curious who the new CEO is ?" She inquired
"No why would I be , we are HR directory assistants , we never will or never have been to the 14th floor" I looked her in the eyes .
" OMG your missing the opportunity here if the assistant is fired we have a chance to move up and become the CEOs' assistant ."
I'm thinking in my head girl you don't do any work down here and I know dang well you won't keep up with the work load up there .
"Your right Megan you should go for it ." I say
" Yeah , I think I will" she says smiling to herself
I mentally role my eyes and look at Mr. Rollins schedule for today. He has about 6 meetings with New Hires and 4 conference calls . I make sure the timing is correct on all the calls since Megan has scheduled calls 2mins apart before . After double checking the calls are at least 30 mins apart . I head to the break room for Mr. Rollins coffee . As I'm fixing the coffee I almost drop it as my crazy friend Lauren screams .
" Heyoooo" in my ear . She laughs at my reaction to her screams.
" I almost dropped this darn coffee girl what's wrong with you" I spat wiping the sides of the mug where the coffee had spilt with a napkin .
" my bad girl I'm just so excited because my boss is going on vacation next week and I ain't got shit to do while his ass is gone" she gleams
I laugh "Man I wish Rollins butt would go on vacation he don't have much of a life dude lives here and his work load is crazy, excuse me my work load" I corrected myself
"Seriously what's the point of this man having two assistants if one of them just runs around like mouth of the south and the other does all the work" she says
" Amen." I say
" Her ass is running around here again talking about how she going to be the new bosses assistant, I said hell you don't work down here you not doing jack up there" she says with all seriousness
We both bust out laughing .
" Girl you are crazy I swear, I gotta go man" I say leaving the break room.
"Hold on wait we eating together for lunch?" She asked
I nodded yes to her.
Back at Mr.Rollins desk I see he has made it in. I knock on his door.
"Come in" he says
"GoodMorning, Mr.Rollins" I greet him and sits his coffee on his desk .
"GoodMorning Kavian ,did you get my email this morning about the new hire packets."
"Yes sir , after I finish filing those papers from yesterday's new hires I'll start on them"
"Where is Megan ?"
"I honestly don't know" I answer sincerely
" You know what have her do the packets and once your done filling those papers, I'll need you to come with me upstairs to meet the new CEO , I want you to take notes because it's a few new policies in position I don't want to forget "he says

"Yes sir , no problem" I say and leave his office.
As I'm filing the papers . Megan finally pops back up .
"Hey Mr.Rollins would like me to let you know to start on those new hire packets ." I say to her
" omg no those things are so thick and I hate doing them,could you help me ." She ask desperately
  " I wish I could but I'll be going with Mr.Rollins upstairs to meet the new CEO in this very important meeting sorry ."  I say rubbing it in her face
" What? , why you ?"
I look her up and down .
" I mean why not both of us I'm his assistant too ."
"I'm not sure maybe ask him yourself." I say as Mr.Rollings is coming out of his office .
" Ask me what ?" Mr.Rollins interjects
" ummm .....umm" Megan stutters
"Well I was just wondering, why not both of us join in the meeting upstairs . Since we're both your assistant and two minds are better than one ." She chuckles
"Well the why is quite simple , I haven't seen you all morning and you've yet to finish the background checks on last weeks new hires . So you have plenty of work today with that assignment along with those packs ." He says
I am completely dumbfounded cause I didn't know all of that was coming out of his mouth . I was completely shocked and by the look on Megans' face so was she . I chuckled a little on the inside .
"Yes sir I completely understand . I'll get straight on it." Megan responds as soon as the shock wears off .
"Very well then Kavian bring your tablet to take notes , I'll wait for you by the elevator." He says then walks away .
" what has gotten into him" Megan says snidely
"I don't know maybe it's the new CEO ." I say grabbing my tablet . And walking to the elevator.
