"Kasey, is she coming to Daytona?" Lisa asked as they rode in the golf cart to the Chevy stage. "I haven't asked her yet, but I would like her to" he said. "Just promise me you won't let her get in the way like some of the other girls you've dated" Lisa stated. "Lisa I know what I have to do. Madison has been a part of my life for as long as I remember and with the breaks in between, we're finally at that pivotal point." "So what are you saying Kasey?" Lisa asked. "Maybe this time I can ask her to marry me" he said.

Kasey came walking into the hauler an hour later. He brought in his fire suit and shoes to change into. "How was the interview?" Madison asked. "Good, lots of fans and questions" he said putting on his fireproof underwear. "So Madison I was wondering if you wanted to go to Daytona with me next weekend" he said. "Um I don't know Kasey" she said. "I'll have to check with work because they usually send me to some show going on in Nashville 4th of July" she said. "You don't have to let me know now, just let me know before next weekend and I can make the right arrangements" he said. "Ok I'll let you know" she said. Kasey smiled at her and he changed into his fire suit and she followed him out of the hauler. "Kasey over here" she heard people yell. To Madison this was a normal for her. Even back to the days when Kasey was racing at the local tracks, people always wanted to take pictures with him and get his autograph. Madison followed Kasey to pit road where they got ready for driver intros. "Ladies and gentleman, please stand and remove your hats" the announcer said as the national anthem started. Madison stood proudly next to Kasey, something she never thought she would tell herself again. The anthem ended and Kasey went to start to get ready to get into the car. "I love you" he said turning to her. Madison kissed him goodbye as he got into the car and started it up. Kasey finished in the top 20 as he pulled his car into the garage. "Good job Kase" she said trying to stay positive. "Thanks" he said putting his helmet back into the car. She followed him back into the hauler where he changed. Madison stood in the little hallway as the team whizzed by; putting things away for the trip home. "You ready Maddie?" he asked coming out the front of the hauler. Madison nodded her head as they made their way to Kasey's car. "Kasey over here" she heard some fans shout. The group came running up to them and Kasey signed autographs for them. "I got to go" he said as he thanked them and grabbed Madison's hand to walk to the car. "I'm proud you're not one of those guys who turns down his fans" she said. "They have made me what I am, so I feel like I have to give back" he said. Kasey helped Madison into the car and they drove to the airport to get on the plane to go home.

Madison stayed with Kasey when they arrived home late Sunday night. As Kasey un-locked the door to his house, Madison got this feeling that maybe one day this could be her house too. Kasey walked in and set his stuff down. "Do you want anything to drink?" he asked. "No I'm good" she replied as she took a seat on the couch. Kasey grabbed a beer out of the fridge and sat down next to her. "Are you ok?" he asked. "I'm fine; just thinking things through" she said. Kasey got a worried look on his face. "Are you thinking of leaving again?" he asked. Madison smiled and shook her head. "No Kasey I am not leaving unless you ask me too" she said. He smiled at her and brought her to him. "You make me the happiest man in the world" he said. Madison looked at him as he leaned into kiss her. In her mind she was by the lake kissing Kasey for the first time. "I love you Kase" she said. "I love you Maddie."
