Here is why (in my opinion) there should not be visuals in Kpop:
The thing is, some people are too blinded by looks to open their eyes to real talent.
Some people even STAN a person because they find them visually appealing.
Why is that wrong?
Everybody is born with diffrent looks from each other. There is no such thing as "pretty" or "ugly" they're just standards we live by (which i think is absolutely STUPID)
This means that you do not decide what to look like. You are born looking like this, and that's what makes you special, your unique appearence is what makes you speacial, so you either live with it and except it or you live your entire life believing society's shit about "pretty and ugly"
So some kpop idols DO live up to the stabdard of "pretty", and only because of that, they are automatically deemed perfect and flawless.

Some people bias idols for their visuals. All their hardwork and talent doesn't matter as long as they have a pretty face.
Well in that case, what about those idols that aren't visuals? Those idols that aren't deemed "pretty" in people's eyes?
They get left out. They are just count ugly, who cares about their talent?
Can you beleive that some people are really like that?
Second of all, imagine being in a group where one of your members is always getting complimented for their looks and you get none of that. Nobody reminding you of your inside beauty becasue your face isn't as picture-perfect as your memebers'.
Also, the idol that is count as a 'visual' themselves will only be looked at as a pretty face. Thus, it will stress them up to always remain living up to the title of 'a visual'.

Of course, not all kpop fans are this toxic and like Idols for their looks, but there are a lot, and for the sake of the idols and the whole kpop community itself, please stop looking at an Idol's appearance before looking at their efforts.
Though i'm not saying you cannot appreciate their looks, you have to appreciate everyone's little details and features, but don't stan someone because of their looks and even if you DO appreciate talent, make it priority over looks and visuals.
