HIRED GUNS
CHAPTER 1
FLOATING GARDEN - FAIRY TALE
"There's no other way..."
Tsukune didn't know when it started, but he hated that phrase with every fiber of his existence. There was always a way. Every solution had a problem. But he was already at the end of the rope trying to find one of those 'solutions' as he chased after Moka through all of the carnage and debris. She was already hell-bent on finishing Alucard herself. There was little time left before the Hanging Garden would reach civilization. They had to crash this place in the ocean, even if it cost them their lives.
The bus driver was giving it his all in bypassing the security system of the entire fortress to commandeer it while Ginei and Haiji fought off the rest the "Black Parade". Toho Fuhai, along with Mikogami and San were busy trying to neutralize Alucard's tentacles and his sentient half, but the fucking thing just won't die.
"MOKA!" he shouted. But she didn't slow down, not even for him. Tsukune could barely catch up to her with the injuries he sustained from his fight with Gyokuro Shuzen. Things were already getting desperate as they were. But her plan of action really pushed it.
"MOKA! STOP!" he pleaded. He finally grabbed hold of her hand but she spun around and caught him in a kiss. It was the first time that their lips met. After years and years of not making any moves, it finally culminated in a kiss. He always dreamt about how soft her lips were, how she tasted. He imagined what sort of event would lead them to finally give in. Would it be on a date? Their usual mornings on the academy's roof? He never expected a battlefield of all places. Now that they finally did it, he felt...nothing. He didn't experience euphoria or any of that shit- because he knew that the nature behind her kiss didn't give any reason for him to be happy.
The pink-haired vampire pulled back, smiling tearfully before saying "I love you."
She kicked him in the face. It sent him flying to a pile of debris where his back would slam against hard concrete and rebar. The impact from his collision didn't knock him out, but it weakened him to the point that he couldn't get back up again.
She looked at him with tears streaming down her delicate face, silently begging him for forgiveness at what she was about to do.
"No..." Tsukune shook his head after realizing that she had made a firm decision.
"I'm sorry..." she whispered and ran off towards Alucard.
"MOKAAA!"
That Rosario was created by a mother to protect her daughter, a girl who would be striking out on her own one day... No matter how far apart they might be, the Rosario would always maintain that connection with her mother.
Moka got closer to Alucard's sentient part, Miyabi, dodging incoming tentacles with enough skill that could match her inner self. She kept telling herself that she was an artificial being created to protect the real her, that none of her memories of joy, laughter, and sadness actually mattered. It made it easier to let go that way. She didn't want to look at her friends... at him... for fear of hesitating to do the one thing she was created for.
Akasha has fully merged with Alucard, so there shouldn't be a speck of her consciousness left inside him. But Akasha continues to fulfill the wishes of the Rosario through the body of that monster.
Alucard was able to sense her presence- after all, they shared the same blood. A tentacle wrapped her in a death coil and lifted her up in the air. Moka struggled as the tentacles grip squeezed the air out of her lungs. Her left hand was free so she gripped the cross around her neck. And suddenly her regrets of not being able to live a life of her own made one last-ditch attempt to halt her sacrifice. 'Please don't do this' she thought. It was like the Rosario itself was trying to stop her.
