Natasha began to have nightmare after nightmare. The woman she'd met while searching for Clint was in every one of them, plotting to kidnap the baby by any means. But every time, Natasha woke in Clint's safe embrace. Like the nightmares, Clint never left her.
"What about Alexandra?" Clint suggested. They were sitting on the couch, Natasha lying across his lap. One of his hands was laced in hers, and the other lay on Natasha's stomach, his thumb softly moving back and forth.
"That's too Russian," Natasha shook her head. "I want something that won't remind me of my past. Something that reminds me of the future."
"Hmm...what about Amy?" He said.
"What's with all the A names?" Natasha asked.
"I don't know, actually. I think I'm just going down the list of names I know alphabetically." Clint chuckled.
"Do you like--" Natasha was cut off by her phone ringing.
The screen showed the name of the last person she wanted to talk to at the moment. "It's Stark." She rolled her eyes and answered the phone. "What?"
"Romanoff, where are you?" Tony asked urgently.
"At my house, why?" She asked.
"You need to leave. Now. Get here as soon as possible." He said.
"Stark? What's wrong?" Natasha asked.
"I think somebody is after you. They seem to have..." His voice was breaking up, and Natasha's heart began to pound.
"Stark? Are you there?" She put her phone on speaker and held it up high, as if it would help with the connection. "Tony? Tony?" She all but screamed in to the phone.
The phone produced a dial tone, signaling that the call had ended.
"Where'd he go?" Clint grabbed the phone, trying to call Tony back.
"Clint, we have to go. He said someone is after us. And I can't help but think it's...it's the woman who's in my dreams. And whoever she's working with." Natasha shuddered.
"Okay. We'll head to Stark tower. Do you need to take anything with you?" Clint asked.
Natasha shook her head. "Everything important I have can't be packed in a bag." She brought her free hand to her stomach and squeezed Clint's hand with the other, which she was still gripping.
"Then let's go." He said, helping Natasha up from the couch. He grabbed the car keys off the hook on the wall and reached for the front door handle, only to have the door open in his face.
Natasha shrieked when she saw the intruder. It was none other than the woman from her dreams, this time followed by a group of several people dressed in dark clothing and sporting large guns.
"Ah, Natasha. Perfect. You look ready to go. Are you?" The woman asked.
"Not with you." Natasha swallowed.
"You'll need to rethink that one," she said cooly as several guns were pointed at Clint's head.
"Don't hurt him!" Natasha shouted. "Hurt me instead. Just leave him alone."
"Nat, no!" Clint cried.
"Oh, there's no need to worry, Mr. Barton. We won't be hurting her. She has something very special to us." The woman's eyes fell to Natasha's stomach.
"What the hell do you want?" Clint demanded.
"I'm sure you already know," she said. "That baby is very valuable to us. She's impossible. Not to mention the daughter of two of the best spies in the world."
Both Clint and Natasha were reminded that them having a child should never have been a reality, which is why they were never very careful. The ceremony that allowed Natasha to become a spy had allegedly prevented her from ever having children. The fact that their daughter was such a miracle was one of the reasons they had decided to keep her.
"Yes, she's supposedly impossible, but just because she has proved science wrong this once doesn't mean she has any value to someone like you." Clint spat.
"Ah, but that's where you're wrong. We believe that since she's proved science wrong once, she'll continue to do so. In so many ways." The woman responded.
"You can't have her." Natasha whimpered.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Miss Romanoff, but haven't you been debating if you even want to be a parent ever since you found out you were going to be one?"
Natasha hesitated. "Yes, I have. But simply because I didn't think I would be a good parent. It has nothing to do with her."
"Would you like to hear my solution?" The woman asked.
Natasha shook her head.
"Give us your child, and you won't have to worry about being a parent at all. Just like you wanted in the first place."
"No." Natasha was beginning to feel weak, and she assumed it was from how overwhelming the situation was. "I would never..." She searched for words, any words, to properly form a sentence, but she couldn't find any. Her brain, and the room, seemed to be fading away from her.
"Nat!" She looked at Clint, who'd been seized by two of the soldiers. He looked like he was shouting something at Natasha, but she couldn't hear anything. She tried to keep her eyes open, but suddenly exhaustion took over and she shut them. At that point she realized she'd been injected with some kind of sedative. The last thing she remembered was grabbing her stomach in a weak attempt to protect her child.

I'M BACK! Only six years later!!
In all honesty, I read my past chapters of this and cringed so hard. I think I've improved so much as a writer over the past six years. I'm tempted to go back and rewrite everything, but I'm super lazy so I probably won't. Anyways, I hope this new chapter is somewhat enjoyable. Let me know what you think and if I should keep going.
ALSO Endgame hurt me so bad. But Clintasha 4eva. Love them 3000.***
