Back at the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre.

"It's just a matter of time. Our satellites are running facial, biometric, and behavioural pattern scans."

Natasha stands in the way of the Security Chief. He looks her in the eye. "Move. Or you will be moved."

"As entertaining as that would be..." T'Challa muses.

"You really think you can find him?" Natasha asks the Wakandan.

"My resources are considerable." He promises.

"Yeah, it took the world 70 years to find Barnes..." The assassin says. "So you could probably do that in about half the time."

"You know where they are." It's not a question; It's a statement, but a questioning one at that.

"I know someone who does."

So. There we were, under and overpass, debating the concept of a getaway car. Steve and left Sam, Bucky and I in the "getaway car" while he met with Sharon.

I was sitting in the back seat, next to Bucky Barnes himself. I glanced at him, trying to be inconspicuous. He somehow sensed me.

"Subj-" He stopped himself. "Chloe, I'm sorry."

I looked at him warily, but didn't meet my eyes.

"Umm, okaaaaay...?"

"No, it's not." He looked up to meet my eyes.

"It wasn't you. It was HYDRA."

"Still."

I took a deep breath. "Bucky, do you know why I wanted to help?"

"No. Do tell."

"IT's because no one should have to live under HYDRA's control. I thought... I thought that if I could help release HYDRA's control over one more person, it would go a long way."

Silence.

"Thank you, for that."

I just nodded.

"Hey, would you guys shut up for a second?" The lovebirds are talking." Sam said from the front. We shut up.

Sam rolled down his window to hear better. I was fine; I had super-hearing, after all. But now I could hear them more clearly.

"Not sure you understand the concept of a getaway car." Sharon said, looking at our car.

"It's low profile." Steve tried to say.

I thought about the old black car we were sitting in. It was okay, no doubt, but not what we were looking for. Definitely not lowkey.

"Good, because this stuff tends to draw a crowd." Sharon opened the trunk of her car, revealing an American shield and a bird costume.

"Hey, Sam!" I whisper shouted. "Sharon got your bud costume back!"

He rolled his eyes.

"I owe you again." Steve thanked Sharon.

"Keeping a list." Sharon smiled. She glanced atus, mainly Bucky. "You know, he kinda tried to kill me."

"Sorry. I'll put it on the list, too." And then the joking tone was gone. "They're going to come looking for you."

"I know."

"Thank you, Sharon."

There's a moment of silence between them. I studied their faces, looking back and forth between the two of them. They looked at each other, staring at the other's eyes.
