Harry's POV -
You know what's annoying?
When your mom practically forces you to present welcome gifts to new neighbors on a Sunday Morning.
That's what.
I was supposed to meet up with my friends but here I am, staring at their mansion. A pretty one actually. It's newly built and as far as I know - or mom told me but that's beside the point, some scientist's family shifted here.
Isn't it so cool? Mom thought I'd actually care.
I mean I love her and all but this thing she makes me do is real-
My thoughts were interrupted as a blonde guy opened the door wearing a cheery grin. Too cheery for a Sunday Morning. For a Morning specifically.
"Hello?" he asked smiling.
"Hi, I'm Harry Styles, your uh neighbor.. umm my mother sent some gifts for your family"
"Oh lovely, I'm Jake Williams by the way, come on inside" he grinned and despite me not wanting to and telling him polite no(s) he didn't really listen to me.
"I'm sorry about the house, it's pretty messy right now.." he said scratching the back of his head.
Define Messy, I thought to myself.
There was nothing messy in the house, if you ignore some sheets and boxes on the floor but it wasn't as messy so to say the word.
"It's alright, it's not all that messy anyway" I said and he shrugged.
"If you say so" he said. "Anyway, do you know how many more gifts.. I mean neighbors are to come? You're the fourth one and managing the house and guests is getting me real tired" he said sheepishly making me chuckle.
"I don't know honestly, but I can only say be prepared for more, people here love to make new peeps feel welcomed, it's a bit of a tradition" I replied and he nodded.
"Sounds like a busy Sunday" he sighed.
"Well, you could let your parents handle it" I said and the smile he was wearing disappeared for a bit before he composed himself.
"If only Mom and Dad were here.. they're both Space Scientists at NASA, also, still to get on their flight to here after they finish work.."
"So they sent you here all alone?"
"Oh no, ofcourse not, there's my sister too. And my parents didn't really wanted to waste time for her school or my college so.. here we are.."
"Oh" I nodded taking in the information.
"So, umm do you go to Westminster High?" he asked and I nodded.
"Yeah"
"Good thing Jess knows someone already" he muttered mostly to himself. "You should meet my sister, she'll be very happy to meet you" he said with a grin making me follow him upstairs.
And then it hit me, I'm supposed to meet Louis and Zayn, they must be waiting for me. I should just quickly get this over with.
"She's all kind with rainbow and unicorns kind of a personality but she just never agrees with me on that" he chuckled to himself. "But I guess that's the case of all siblings, do you have any siblings?" he asked as he knocked on a door.
"Umm, no" I replied as the door opened.
"What?" asked a girl that seemed a full opposite of Jake.
"Umm.. Harry, that's my sister, Jessica" he said. "Jess this is Harry, he's gonna be at your new school" he added while I looked at her.
Jessica. Blue eyes carrying contact lenses. I could tell. Her hair were dark and long, reaching her waist. She was beautiful.
For a minute, she stood there with a skeptical look before she quickly checked me out and cracked a smallest of her smiles.
"Cool" she murmured.
"Oh my god, I just remembered Nicky wanted me in her room" Jake said and looked at me. "See ya around buddy" he patted my shoulder and walked away.
"So, Harry...?"
"Styles"
"Nice, Williams" she said offering her hand and shook mine gently as I took it.
"And you're here because..?"
"Oh, I'm your neighbor, my mother-"
"Sent gifts?" she completed.
"Yeah.." I said and she nodded.
"Choose" she asked while holding her fists towards me, and I casually chose the left one which made her raise her eyebrows.
"Good choice, come on" she said walking ahead of me.
"What was in it?" I asked and she smirked.
"Garden. Much better than any part of the house" she said and I smiled.
"What was in the other?" I asked.
"Garden." she said as we went downstairs and soon she opened a glass door to the garden. It had so many plants and flowers I didn't know the name of, but it was altogether too pretty. She was right about her house not having a prettier part than this.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" she said looking at a flower.
"Indeed" I smiled. "So when are you starting school?"
"Wednesday" she stated clearly.
The scenery in front of us got our eyes glued to it and for almost 5 minutes we just stood there, staring it's beauty.
"I should get going now.." I broke the silence.
"Say thanks to your mom for the, what did you bring?"
"Chocolates, Flowers and donuts" I said suppressing my smile.
"That" she shrugged and I followed her to the main door.
"See you at school" I said before leaving and she nodded.
"Sure, Harry" she said without any emotion on her face and went inside, leaving me to wonder what made her upset within seconds.
But she's new and doesn't even know me, it was kind of expected right?
