Love Always Finds a Way

A Dragon Egg Found

Day turns to dusk as the sun sets over the mountains. A lonely traveler, at the age of 27, was walking through the large, vast forest, eager to get back home to his village. He was visiting a family friend from a neighboring village for a few days, and is traveling back to his own. As he walked, he walks pass a tree and trips over a large root sticking out of the ground. He groans in slight pain, clenching his teeth while doing so. Then, he sees something that catches his attention. He looks and sees a large white egg hidden underneath the tree. He manages to sit up and pull the egg out from it's hiding place. The traveler inspects it, and his eyes grow very wide in sudden realization. 'It couldn't be, could it?' he thought. Before he could think about what to do with the egg, it starts to hatch. The traveler was so startled, he almost dropped the egg. He stares at it as whatever was inside starts to break through the shell. It pecks it's little nose through the shell, little by little, creating a small opening. The traveler, even though he was scared, he helps the creature by lightly removing some parts of the shell, making the hole more bigger. The creature pushes it's head through the now large enough hole, ready to see the outside world. It then uses it's claws to break the egg more. The more it broke the shell, the more it revealed itself.The traveler couldn't believe what he was seeing. Before him, was a baby dragon. 

By what he could tell, it was a female. Her scales are a light cream color, with some small sparkles of gold all over her body. The underbelly and legs is dark gold, and the stripe on her head is the color of rubies. Four, little stubs of horns reside on her head. Her small wings have dark gold webbing and the tips are bright vibrant gold. Then, with a big push, the baby dragon breaks the shell in half, finally free to move freely. She blinks her eyes for a moment, her vision still kind of blurry. She rubs her eyes with her clawed hands, letting out a chirp while doing so. Once that was done, she opens her eyes more, reveling bright aquamarine eyes. The traveler looks at the little creature with wonder and amazement. The dragon looks at the man, tilting her head curiously. Reaching forward, she places her paws(ok, I don't know whether to call them paws or hands. If you have any idea, feel free to let me know) on his cheeks, being very careful with her claws. The traveler was shocked to see how gentle this little dragon was being. Then, the baby gives him a smile and nuzzles her head against his chest, letting out a little squeal while doing so. The traveler, who once felt a twinge of fear, has now felt something else. He felt a fatherly affection towards this baby dragon. He gently pets her head, the baby purring while he does this act. A smile starts to appear on his face, his heart filling with love and joy. "Don't worry, little one. I promise you, that no one will harm you" he said, as the baby slowly starts to fall asleep. The traveler gets up on his feet while still holding the newborn in his arms. "Lets go home...Kila" he said, before moving onward towards his village.
