Knock knock knock!
......mmm...5 more minutes...
Knock knock knock!!!!

"Such a bother..," I mumbled as I stumbled out of bed and opened the door. It was Kohaku. That's odd. He usually tries to avoid me unless we're on a mission together...

"What do you want?" I asked, partially mumbling, partially snappy. Kohaku just looked at me, blankly, for a sec. It pisses me off when he doesn't respond when I ask the first time. So I asked again. "What do you want?" He smiled as I asked again, as if amused by this.

"Naraku wants to see you," he said in his annoying monotone voice. I sighed softly and walked over to Naraku's room as Kohaku left, most likely on a nature walk. Naraku never sends him out on missions this early in the morning...

Knock knock knock!

"Come in Kanna," Naraku said, as I slid the door open. He had my mirror with an odd smile on his face. He motioned for me to sit next to him. As I did so, he ruffled my hair a bit.

"How'd you sleep, Kanna," he asked softly. I think he could tell that I wanted to go back to bed, but that made him seem to smile a little more.

"I'm fine," I said and then I got straight to the point, "why did you want to see me?"

"I'd like to do a little test on you," he said, "if you don't mind." I looked at him thinking he was high. Since when was he actually willing to ask if I was ok with something??? He noticed my confusion and started to explain.

"Basically," he started, "I'm going to give you a soul and emotions. Meaning you'll be able to bleed, cry, be angry, etc." As he finished, he took a child soul out of my mirror. "This also means you won't be able to use your mirror for a little while. Which is why I'd like to know if you're ok with this." Go figure...I thought. Then I just looked up and said, "I'm fine with it."

Naraku looked at me, a little surprised. Then he said, "alright then. Would you like me to send someone with you if you go out or would you like to learn self-defense from Kohaku?"

"Can't I just go with neither?" I asked. Naraku shook his head, "I'm sorry Kanna, but no. I'd perfer if if you at least knew how to defend yourself when you're out there. I don't want the enemies to hurt you." I sighed...I hate when he's right.

"I'd like someone to go with me," I answered reluctantly. Naraku didn't seem too surprised. Naraku released the soul and it flew towards me and absorbed into my body.

I suddenly felt five times more tired than before. I rested my head on the wall and groaned. Is this how Kohaku feels when he gets back after those long missions? How does he deal with this?!

"Uughh," I groaned, "Can i go back to bed now...?" Naraku nodded, but he got up and carried me to bed.

"I could've gotten to bed on my own," I mumbled. He rolled his eyes and tucked me into bed. I couldn't even hear him say "goodnight" before I knocked out cold.
