casualty Ruby & Archie

Chapter 7

Ruby's POV

I pull away slowly, I didn't even think, I just did it " wow" Archie smiles softly these past couple of weeks have been really hard to deal with for me. With the accident and trying to keep my feelings for Archie under wraps. I smile "you have no idea how long I've wanted to do that" I tell her, I take her to the pub and we talk for hours about our separate Experiences with the job, we've both been doing so much for other people I don't think either of us realized that we were not okay. Talking to Archie about it helps though and I see that her walls are coming down. It's early the next morning that I eventually fall asleep on the couch in the pub.
I wake up in my room at home, I d don't know how I got here so I go to the kitchen and make myself a piece of toast. When I turn around I let out a small scream, "Archie what are you doing here". She rubs her eyes and yawns tiredly "Hey Ruby how's it going" I'm still in shock, so when Archie stands up and takes my toast straight from my hands all I can do is side-eye her angrily.

Archie's POV

Her being angry is so cute, it's like a bunny rabbit being cross with me, I smile and put on some more toast. "Isn't it your shift today?" I ask "it should be but Charlie says that the ED isn't fit to take patients today so I've got an extra hour to get to St. James's. I smile at Ruby wondering how this girl managed to break all my walls down and I'm not even angry about it. "Clearly you should get a day off" I smirk and kiss her cheek swiftly she rolls her eyes and smacks me laughing "oy I'll be back soon promise, anyway you should go help clear the hospital". I feel my heart fall as I remember what happened last night a tear runs down my cheek,  " oh Archie I'm sorry, I didn't think" she says sadly.
"It's fine Rube's it's just I need to find her parents and tell them...you know"
"Yeah, look I'll see you later k" and she heads out.

A few hours later...

Ruby's POV

I'm just finished up my shift for the day when I see Archie approaching quickly "hey Ruby how are you" she asks "I'm fine" "how'd go with Addy's parents?" "good as you can expect, I suppose they are very upset and unsure whether they should be happy, sad or confused." I nod and start to pack up " how was your shift anyway?". "Fine, do you want to come to the house with me?" I ask shyly and Archie grins " of course Red".
