ALLIE

Before we got off  his car, his brother D approached the car and handed a box to Daniel. He opened it and looked at it. He then turned to me and took my hand . He removed the black platinum wedding ring that he gave me in Vegas and replaced it with this beautiful black diamond engagement ring. Did he buy this for another woman? He placed my wedding ring in his jacket pocket.

"What will you do with that?"

"Keep it. You won't be needing it anyway. WHy, would you like to wear it?"

"Yes please."

He fished the black platinum ring in his pocket and gave it back to me. I wore it in my right ring finger while the engagement ring on my left. I see that he is wearing the black wedding ring on.

"Ready?"

"Yes."

He went out and came to my door to open it. He took my hand and for a while I almost believe that everything is true. He looked at me lovingly and he was smiling and I realized, damn it was all for a show. His family is watching us.

"smile" he whispered. And I smiled and looked at him. Aaah the look of a couple who are in love. He put my hand in the crook of his arm and we headed to where his family is waiting.

His parents looked so glad when they saw me. Geniunely glad that they saw me.

His brothers were smiling and his sister? Kasi bata pa, yun deadma. Hahaha

They led us to their dining where lunch is being served. Dan and I sat next to each other.

"So, uhm Mom, Dad last weekend, Allie and I got married in Vegas. And we told her family already. Gusto ni Senyor Bueno na let's do the traditional pamamanhikan tonight and the engagement party tomorrow. Kasi nagalit, he won't let me do this to his great grand daughter. And he started eating after he dropped the bomb on his family. His father despite his shock smiled and congratulated him. He on the other hand was finishing a chicken leg already.

"Allie, I'm so glad it was you. I was dreading today when he said that he will be bringing a girl for lunch and needed to announce something to us."

"Mom, I won't bring home a girl who does not match me. She has to pass the qualifications to be worthy of the title MRS DANIEL ANTONIO. Right Baby?" He winked at me while chewing. I blushed.

"Hay naku ang yabang ng anak ko. How do you cope up with him, Allie?"

"Mom, that's a bedroom secret."

I was so shocked with what he said that I almost choke up with my drink.

"Ikaw talaga Daniel." His mom said. And that earned a round of laughters from his brothers.

"So where do you both live?"

"At my house Dad."

"Have you gone ther Allie?"

"Not yet Ma'am."

"Mommy na lang itawag mo sa akin, asawa ka na ni Danny. Daniel san mo dinala ang asawa mo pag uwi niyo?"

"Umuwi siya sa kanila.'"

"Anong klase kang lalaki?  Pinauwi mo lang yung asawa mo sa bahay nila?"

"Yun gusto niya eh. Di bale nasabon na ako ng Lolo niya."

"Ano sabi ni Anna?"

"Wala. Si Senyor Bueno lang nagsadalita."

"So what time are we going to Allie's house?"

"6 Mommy kasi makikipag usap pa tayo dun."

"So are you going home together now?"

Tanong ng kapatid niyang babae.

"Yes"
"No"

We both said together.

"What? You don't know if you're moving in together now?"

Asked Diego

"She has to pack her stuff. We eloped, remember?"

All the time while they wete talkinh, I kept silent. And he kept embarassing me while he talks to them.

His family is kind to me especially his mom who told me that with all the kinds of women that he is heard or seen running around with, sabi niya sumasakit ang ulo niya at naeeskandalo.

She said that she is so glad ako ang asawa ng anak niya. We talked about other things, about other stuff. And they are all excited for the big wedding. And the engagement especially the pamamanhikan
