June's Summer

Chapter 1

As I lay on my bed,any thoughts run through my mind.It's Saturday night,my best friend cancelled on me,so I'm spending another summer night in my bed,on my laptop,re-watching movies.It saddens me when I think about my birthday.I'm turning eighteen in two months and what have I done with my life?Absolutely nothing.

My days have passed in binge watching shows and watching movies,which I enjoyed at the moment,but now that I acknowledge that my youth has passed in that,it brings me down.My friends are out there living their lives,having summer romances and partying...I can do that to,but I also can't.If only I could describe the emptiness I feel inside of me,then at least I could vent and get it out of my system.

"Aren't you supposed to be out with Sarah?"My brother enters and interrupts my thoughts.

"She couldn't make it."I sigh out.He gives me a look of disbelief and huffs.

"Wouldn't be her first time."My gaze travels to my chair,where a pile of clothes is literally covering it.I could clean that.Or not."Hey,why don't you come with me and my friends?We are all going to chill at Brian's house."

Now I give him a look of disbelief.He never invites me to go out with his friends even when I asked him to introduce me to some of them which I found cute,never.My brother is a year older than me,but he acts like he's two decades older.I'm used to that behavior though.

"Why?"Arching up my brows,I await for his response.

"What do you mean 'why'?You have barely gone out since school finished,you don't go out with your friends,you don't talk to us...I am your last resort before they send you off."He smirks.

"Nice to know I have such a caring brother."I roll my eyes and pull the covers over me.Suddenly,I feel a tight grasp on my foot and before I know it,I'm on the floor,being pulled across my room by my brother.I shriek.

"Let go of me!Are you insane?!"I try to jerk my foot but I can't.He drags me into the bathroom and throws a towel at me.

"You have thirty minutes.Be pretty."With a cheeky smile he closes my door.My jaw falls."Take a shower,you stink!"I hear the door to my room close,and I stand up in anger and look in the mirror.Gosh,I looked terrible.My hair was in a messy half bun,because my shoulder length hair couldn't stay up in a whole bun,my eyes were puffy,because I had just woken up from a nap.As a pair of emerald eyes stare back at me,I decide I had to,for myself,take a deep cleanse shower.

After my shower,I just blow dried my hair,put on my pajamas and jumped in my bed.Just as I took my laptop,my door swings open.Jeesh,he could at least knock,I could've been naked or something.His eyes roam the room,and he finds me in my current position,furrows his brows and looks at his watch.

"You are taking your time.You have five more minutes though,that should be enough to get dressed."

Why can't he just let me be?I totally love being at home,on my laptop.Wait,that is so contradicting because I just complained about hating that about me.Maybe I should go,I have nothing to lose.Worst case scenario,If I have a bad time,I'll just uber home.With a long sigh,I decide not to overthink and to get up.I grab a plan white top with denim shorts and my shoes.

"Could you at least leave while I get dressed?"I ask him in a joking tone.He just looks at me,smirks and leaves the room.I always wished that I inherited the blue eyes from my father as my brothers and sister did.

I got dressed and I put a little bit of makeup on,sprayed some perfume and left my room.Looking out the window in the hall,I see my brother is outside with a friend.

We arrived at Brian's house,and the atmosphere there was great.Some of Zed's,my brothers,friends I knew,but there was more of them that I didn't know.Everybody was really chill,drinking and smoking and listening to minimalist techno.
