Rain tapped incessantly against the window, its damp and earthy scent wafting through the bottom screen. The sky, full of somber grey clouds, didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon either. You sighed, the sound of your voice echoing softly off the surfaces of the cool cement room. Nothing out of the ordinary stirred, it was just you by yourself. Straining your ears, however, you heard it. The light thrumming of a pulse.

"Well, are you going to come in? I can hear your heartbeat from practically a mile away." You called out, rolling your eyes slightly.

"Fine, then I won't waste my time. Excuse me."

You watched as a lanky gentleman entered the room. He shut the door, leaving it slightly ajar. It was already naptime so no need to worry about any intrusions upon your conversation. His shoulder-length dark and wavy hair concealed much of his rugged but handsome face, along with the cream colored cloth that he wrapped loosely around himself.

"What're you doing here? I thought I told you, I can handle myself." You said with slight indignance.

"It's not that. I've come for that favor."

You paused, your eyes finally landing on those weary narrow ones boring into you unwaveringly. It was those hollow eyes that once gazed at you with pride and adoration, now staring at you like a stranger.

The distance that had grown between you two made it difficult for you to speak so you swallowed your initial words of, 'How dare you show up to this place again in front of me!?'

"What is it?" You dryly asked instead, pushing aside your more emotional responses.

"There's a job opening at Yūei High School. I've recommended you to the principal and other staff."

Your eyes widened in shock and disbelief before you recomposed yourself scoffing.

"A kid villain teaching other kids at a hero school? That's rich."

"You're no villain, [y/n]." He said simply.

"Do you know what I've been doing since you left?" You asked, anger flaring up inside you.

"That's not the point."

"Do you!?" Your voice rose in pitch, as you turned your back on him to hide your watery eyes.

"You don't have to continue doing that." There was almost a trace of guilt and remorse in his words.

"Huh, do you know though? What I've been up to all this time."

"Of course." The normally stoic man said through teeth clenched. "You of all people should know how fast gossip travels in the dark. Just because I've stopped my work underground doesn't mean I'm unaware of the crimes you've committed."

"Then say it! Say it aloud! Tell me how terrible I am! How disappointed you are in me!"

"You're not terrible, just terribly annoying." He sighed. "And I'm not disappointed in you, just by what I've let happen to you. What you're doing now doesn't fit the brat I once knew. The role of the villain doesn't suit you."

"Well, I'm not that little girl anymore. I can do things besides cry now, Aizawa." You replied stiffly. "And before I forget, I prefer the word vigilante to villain."

"In this world, society can't acknowledge your deeds as a valid means of change, so can you really be satisfied with that?"

"Then what can I possibly do?" You uttered hopelessly. "My quirk wasn't made for helping others lest myself."

A silence fell over the room for a couple of minutes after your question.

"There is a way. As much as it pains me to offer such a positive and good-two-shoes response, that is the truth. If you aren't using it for others then you just haven't found the right way to use it yet." He sighed.
