Augusts Waters and I met through a support group.

Where our lives crossed each other and made knots and loops.

I visited his place, with a house tour.

I'm glad that, later, I'd be here more.

I introduced Augusts to my favorite books.

Ever since then, like me, he was hooked.

We made my "cancer" our very own "forever".

We even went to Amsterdam together.

I thought he was cancer-free.

But in tests, he "lit up like a Christmas tree".

We were taught that some infinities are bigger than others.

Great to know we went through our infinity with one another.

But then he left everybody at his funeral,

At which I thought of the things we had learned in general.

And I remember my fear of bringing him pain on the

Ride that only went up as we buckled our seat belt.

That was when a familiar quote we had shared hit

me: "That's the only thing about pain. It demands to be felt".
