It's foggy outside and I don't even know where the heck I am. I wake up and see Rachel in a bed next to mine, and she's still asleep. That girl can sleep until dinner time if she could. As for me, I'm always an early riser. I open the door which is steel and walk to another door to see if that's where we eat breakfast. My hair is in a messy bun and I'm still pretty exhausted, and I rub my eyes. Once I open them again, I see Megan standing in front of me.
"Oh... um, good morning." I then yawn.
"Mornin' sleepy-head. Wake up Rachel, it's almost time for training. This happens every morning, so you better get use to it. And Zhar, where is she?"
"Uh, I think she's still asleep..."
"Wake her up, too. Hurry it up, though!" Megan sounded demanding. I walked to the door again and pushed it open.
"Rachel, Zhar! Wake up! And c'mon, we have to hurry for training!" Rachel slowly got up and rubbed her eyes. Zhar, did something different. She didn't wake up.
"Zhar, lets go!" I yelled one more time. She didn't move. I walked in and shook her to see if she would wake up. She rolled over and gave me a look, like one of those annoyed looks.
"What? What'd I do? It's not my fault we have to wake up early every morning to do training."
"We WHAT?" Rachel turned around and looked surprised. "What about food? You know how I'm always hungry..."
"No time to talk. We have to get to training. " Zhar and Rachel followed me down the long hallway and then outside. We saw Megan and a couple other people in a group with some man.
"Sorry we're late, Megan. Had a little bit of sleeping in..." I looked over at Zhar and Rachel.
"Who are you three? And why are you late?!" Yelled the instructor.
"Sorry, sir... Rachel and I--uh-- slept in a bit..." Zhar said, nervously.
"Baxter, they're new to the pack. Let 'em slide this time." Megan said, covering for us.
"Oh, okay. But just this once. Be on time tomorrow." I was actually kind of nervous for this. I didn't know how things worked around here, but I'll get the hang of it sooner or later.
A boy walked up next to me, just coming now.
"Connor, why are you late, again?!" Yelled the instructor.
"I'm sorry, Baxter... I was-- uh-- you know... doing important things..."
"You're lying, I can just tell. For the last time, if you are late again, you get kicked out of this pack, forever. Understand?" Baxter explained. Everyone, including me, stared at him until he answered Baxter.
"Yes, sir." Connor shamefully put his head down and looked at the floor. I looked at him, with his black pushed back hair and leather jacket. I could already tell he was a total troublemaker.
"Hey beautiful, what's your name?" He turned to me.
"Um, I'm Emma... now could you leave me alone, please?" I didn't want him to talk to me.
"Ah, you're a sweet girl, aren't ya? I'll talk to you later." Connor left, walking the way every other boy does. Ever since my mate had died, I don't want any other boys coming into my life just like that. Plus, he's a troublemaker, and I don't want to get into any trouble what so ever.
"What was that all about? He looked like a douchebag." Rachel said. I laughed at that.
"Ha, yeah. I don't know... his name is Connor, apparently."
"Yeah, I figured that." Rachel said that sarcastically. I rolled my eyes, and smiled.
"Okay, as you guys know, my name is Baxtor. I will be your trainer, or instructor. What ever you want to call me. But, you cannot act like a fool around me, or you'll regret it. You hear that? I'm talking to you, Connor." Connor laughed, and so did his group of friends.
"We have some new people to the pack, Emma, Zhar, and Rachel. Welcome to the Luna Eclipse Pack. I assume that Alice welcomed you already."
"Yes," I said, respectfully.
"Good. Emma, could you come with me for a minute?" Baxtor seemed excited when he told me that. I don't believe that I was in trouble, since it was my first day here.
"Emma. I expect great things from you. I hear that you're a great fighter." He smiled at me.
"Why, thank you, Baxter."
"I hear that your mate has passed. Am I correct?"
"Yes, sir."
"Well, don't let that Connor boy get in your way. He's been in so much trouble ever since he came here." He whispered that, so Connor wouldn't hear.
"I'll watch out for him." It's not like I wasn't. I already was when I first noticed him.
"Okay, so for today you will pick a partner to fight with. Pretend you are fighting a rouge, make it real. Do not take it easy on them, even if they are your friend." Baxter explained. That made me think for a second, maybe this pack gets a lot of rouges into their territory. I chose Rachel to be my partner, and Megan chose Zhar.
'Don't you think this Baxter guy is taking this to seriously?' Rachel said, mind linking me.
'Yeah, but we're suppose to listen to him. So let's not argue with him.' I said back. I was in my wolf form, and light and dark shade of brown. I don't want to hurt Rachel, though. I ran straight for her but she dodged me. She pinned me to the ground and tried to bite me, but I pushed her off, having her land on her back. I ran over to her trying to scratch her, but again, I don't want to hurt her badly, so I backed off.
'Wow, you've been getting better. How'd you get so strong that fast?'
'What, do you think I'm not so strong? Ha, I've always been stronger than you.' I said, joking.
'Psh. You know I'm stronger than you!'
'Doesn't matter.'
