El's POV
I direct my brother and Phil to the place that interested me. Tucked away in a little corner of the street was a small music shop called The Bassment that I had an pull to check out. In it's window was a "Help Wanted" sign, so we waltzed in. Immediately, we were greeting by a "Adam." He was tall, with tousled brown hair and warm, dark eyes. He had a kind of punky edge to him. Signs of stubble rose along his chin, and as he smiled, he white teeth did something to make it infectious.
"Well, hello, hello. Who do I have the pleasure of meeting today?" he said in a deep drawl.

"Hello, I'm Elizabeth, with my brother and his friend," I did my best to push away my sudden nervousness as I gestured to them. Dan gave a little wave and Phil just gave him a thin smile. That's weird... Phil's always so cool around people. Maybe a little awkward. I thought to myself. "I saw you had a help wanted sign, and I'm really into music..." I say, realizing that I wasn't that prepared. "and... shops, soo. Here I am." I give him a little smile to wrap up my terrible speech. I could feel Dan holding back a snicker. Some brother.

Adam looked me up and a couple of times. He lingered for a moment at my array of band bracelets.

"You think you can just waltz in here and ask for a job like that?" he asked in an incredulous voice.

I opened my mouth, then promptly closed it again.

"Well... yeah. Kinda," I said sheepishly.

He paused for a moment before another infectious smile crept onto his face.

"Perfect!" he shouted with a clap of his hands. "Edgy. You're totally hired, man."

I was now disbelieving.

"Really, dude? Sick!" I got the punk-rocker vibe from him, so I decided to let my side show too.

"You wanna start tomorrow?" he asked.

I shrugged. It wasn't like I had anything planned.

"Sure," I said. I think I saw Phil start to say something, but he closed his mouth. I glanced at him, and then Adam did the same. I shrugged.

"I think I might have to do some more questioning tommorow to make sure you're musical knowledge is alright, but I think it's mostly a done deal. We'll talk about pay then, too," he said, holding my gaze. Something about this place just made me feel good. I felt sort of like... I fit in.
