i spent five days in sedona, arizona with all of the women in my family. it was an experience i've never had before, but it was wonderful. through the tears, hikes, sunburns, screaming, snapping, and motel pool visits—i learned more about the women who have built me and the girls who have infested me.

on thursday night of our stay, i read the poetry collection 'sea of strangers' by lang leav. it inspired me to write these poems, which i collected onto paper while in a cramped plane seat flying us back to cincinnati, ohio.

these are my love letters from sedona.
