CHAPTER TWELVE

ASHANTI'S POV

It's two days after our outing with Jerry. I was planing on visiting Jerry yestersay when Esther show up. But I can't shoo her away just because am crazily falling in love with a guy. Have known her for long and I can't let anyone come in between us. We order for domino pizza and cold stone ice cream. After lunch, we went to my room. We painted our fingernails, straightening our hair and gist a lot.

"Beep beep beep" my phone distracted us. I picked it up and smiled at the name that appeared on my screen. I did not open the chat. I will do that later. We continued with our gist. Esther was about to say something when my phone beeped again then I put it on silent.

"Have you ever fall deeply in love? She asked me with a straight face.

If you are talking about my past  NO but right now YES.

"No" I lied. Why? I asked her.

"I just want to know how people feel when they fall in love" she said unseriously.

I thought for a while and imagine how I always felt when I set my eyes on him.

"Dumbass" she jerked. Where the hell have you travel to? Sarcasm.

"To get answers to your questions. I rolled my eyes. Babe, are you in love?

"I guess I am. She shouted.

"Wow" I jumped over her and we both crashed on the bed.

"Get off me silly girl" she screamed underneath me.

"Not until you tell who he is" I did not make a move to get up.

"Get up and I will tell you". She yelled softly.

"Okay" I sat up and pulled her up. I dressed the collar of her t-shirt, sat beside her and pat her back like a child who has refuse to eat.

"Who is the lucky guy? I demanded.

"He's a guy" she said slowly..

My eyes almost popped out of its socket " Are you planning  to date a girl or what?

She elbow me playfull. "No.

"Who is he? Where does he live? What did he look like?
Did he really love you? I said with out putting a stop to each sentence.

She crossed her arm and look straight into my eye "which of these do you want me to answer?

"All"

"Okay, like I said earlier, he's a guy. He lives near by. He handsome" she stopped and stood up "I don't know if he loves me the way I do.

I sat at the edge of my bed and pat the space beside me for her to seat. She sat and I crossed my hand over her shoulder.

"Why not talk to him and know your stand with him" I told and her face brightens up.

"Thanks, I will do that tomorrow.

"Should I go with you?

"No, I can handle it myself.

By 8pm, she left for home and I decided to take my shower. After shower I ate the leftover pizza and hop in my bed. I saw my phone where I kept it and remembered I have pending messages. I opened it .

Jerry: hello

Jerry: are you there?

Ashanti : hi, am here.

Jerry: hope u did not forget your promise?

I frown at my phone looking confused.

Ashanti : what promise?

Jerry: visiting me soon.

Am free tomorrow and Esther is not coming around.

Ashanti: okay, address?

Jerry: I will come around to pick you.

Ashanti: good night.

I didn't wait for his reply before zooming in to my dreamland.

I woke up this morning to my alarm clock and rolled to the side of my bed. I groaned at the frustrating alarm on my bed stand. I put it off and rolled to the other side of the bed to get my phone. The time was 8 o'clock. I don't have much to do today. I only need to get some toiletries from the grocery store. I decide that I will get it on my way from Jerry' s place. But I am feeling weak that i couldnt eat much so I decide to rest for a while maybe I will get better.

The devil is a big liar, nothing can stop me from visiting him today.

By 12noon, I sit on the couch to relax while waiting for Jerry. I feel a tap on my shoulder and I open my eyes. I saw Jerry standing. I blink twice to be sure of my sight, he's still there.

"Hi" he greet me as he take his sit.

I check the time and it's 1:23pm. I don't know when I doze off.

"Hi,for how long have you here? I yawn

"Just now, are you set? He place his two hand on his tights, ready to get up.

"Yeah sure" I grab my purse and take the lead while he follow behind. I lock the door and we drive to his place. The driving was just twenty minute drive. We arrive at his place, The house was painted in a light blue color. He open the door.

"Lady first" he gesture for me to enter.

I enter and he close the door behind us. I look at  everywhere, it has a male fragrant.

"Welcome to my small home, have your seat please."

"Thanks" I was about to sit when I feel dizzy. I touch my forehead and it is hot.

"Are you okay?"Jerry ask me.

"Yes sure am okay" I give him an assuring smile.

"What should I offer you?

"Anything is okay"

"A second please" he enter the kitchen and bring two cups of juice. "Have this before the pizza arrives"  he place it on the table. "Excuse me" he enter a room which I assume to be his room.

I sip from the cup and relax on the couch. The doorbell rings, since Jerry is not here I think of helping him. I stand up but my head is spin and everything go blank.
