Jorge POV
Jorge wanted to go home. He was sitting in one of his classmates living room, a beer can in his hand, which he has barely even drank out of. At this point he felt like going home, honestly, he didn't even want to come here in the first place. The plan was to pregame with a few people from his grade and then go to some party afterwards, but apparently the girl who was originally meant to host had just decided to quit on them. Jorge didn't know what got him to do this. Social events weren't really his thing, besides the fact that he couldn't even call most of these guys his friends. Sure, they got along well enough, and they invited him in tonight, but Jorge wasn't exactly close to them.
Since he only recently transferred to their school, that didn't really come as a surprise. In that matter, the fact that he was a massive introvert didn't help at all.
A sudden: "Guess what?" quickly snapped him out of his train of thoughts. Jose lifted his sight and looked at Carlos, who looked immensely excited all of a sudden. Carlos was the one who probably initiated that Jorge would be invited tonight. He was the one he was closest to, on his first day he wouldn't leave Jorges side to make him feel less alone, even though they only had met the same day. Jorge appreciated the heck out of his new, bubbly sort-of-friend. But now he really wanted to know the news that had Carlos this excited.
"Our night has just been saved! I found us an alternative for Sierras party!" Jorge tried his best to look somewhat excited about that. "Okay, and what would that be, if I may ask?", one of the others dared to ask. "It's Benjis birthday today, and since I'm friends with his sister we have a pretty good chance of getting into his party!"
While the others seemed to be fairly happy about that, Jorges heart dropped to his stomach. Benji. Benji was the type of person that Jorge never could befriend. He was the schools most infamously popular guy, who every girl drooled over and every dude wanted to befriend. Jorge soon found out that, in reality, everyone was at least a little bit intimidated by him. Jorge couldn't lie, that applied to him as well. And what intimidated him the most was how Benjis smile would creep into his mind, when he lied awake at night, and how that would make him feel, deep down in his stomach.
But he could never possibly admit that. And to prove that to himself, Jorge took on last big gulp out of his beer and found himself getting into a taxi shortly afterwards.
He couldn't believe he was doing this voluntarily.
