🇹he owl had landed on the roof of the headquarters, gently releasing the three members.
"Be more careful next time," his deep voice rumbled out from within his mask. Then without giving any of them a chance to reply, he turned his large, protruding back to them and launched off the roof into the night.
Ayato clicked his tongue, despite how exhausted he was, and shoved his hands in the pockets of his coat, turning and heading inside.
"Hey!" Raven calls, getting his attention.
"What?" he sighs, stopping in his tracks to look at them.
"At least give us a thank you, we didn't have to save you back there." Raven snaps.
Ayato's deep-blue eyes scowled back at her, "I didn't need any saving."
Raven's arms crossed, her brows wiggling with sass. "Really? because if we didn't come help, you would have ended up as that dove's next quinque by now." She retorts.
Ayato stops in his tracks, then huffs a quiet sigh, not meeting her gaze.
"Thanks."
Then he continues on inside, leaving the two following him.

🇷aven's room shook -- then again and again.
She was currently sticking her nose in a book and exhaled an annoyed huff, figuring someone was purposely causing a racket. She slammed the book closed, then swung her legs over and rose off the comfort of her bed.
Not bothering to give a knock on the door of the room next to her, she twisted the knob and swung it open -- only to find Kaneki a complete wreck. His hands were clawing at his face as cries of agony were heard from him, his kagune striking through his barren room, making it a mess from all the cracks in the floor.
"Kaneki!" She exclaims, worry taking over her emotions as she runs forward. He doesn't seem to break out of his agony, continuing to let his kagune thrash around the room as he continues to yell wordlessly.
"Hey, hey, hey, Kaneki!" She rambles, getting a hold of him.
When that doesn't work, she brings him in for a hug which then seems to snap him back to reality. The two settle into kneeling together on the floor as she continues to hug him, one hand stroking his hair gently.
"Shh, it's okay. You're okay," Raven softly cooed into his ear. Kaneki burrowed his face in the crook of her neck, now quietly crying. "Kaneki, what's wrong?"
"I got so engrossed in wanting to protect everyone I cared about, I lost myself. I became a monster," he croaked, now meeting her gaze.
Raven rose a hand to cup the side of his face, "hey, you're not alone. When I first got mine, I didn't know how to control it either. But I eventually got the hang of it and so will you."
The smallest of smiles crossed his lips, "thank you."
She flashed a wider smile back, pulling him in for another hug, with Kaneki now hugging her back. Little did they know they were being peered on from the doorway by the eyes of a particular black rabbit, watching with distaste.

🇨adi happened to be strolling down the hallway, noticing Ayato peering in a particular doorway. She popped up beside him, giving him startle at the sudden whisper of her voice.
"Whatcha up to?"
He quickly regains himself, giving her a look with leering eyes. "Don't sneak up on someone like that, God." He scowls.
Cadi rolls a shrug off her shoulders, "my bad, curiosity got the best of me." She excuses.
She doesn't repeat her question but instead peels around him, peering into the room. She then retreats back to where she was positioned, giving him a teasing smirk.
"Why you spying on those two?"
Ayato's eyes droop in annoyance, "I am not, I just was muddled as to why she would comfort someone like him." He scoffs.
"Yeah, okay," Cadi throws back, her tone void of being convinced. Her hand pats him on the shoulder, as she gives him a look of knowing. "Face it, Ayato. You're jealous. You have feelings for Raven, and that's why you don't like seeing her comfort him."
A red hue dusts his cheekbones as he scowls once more. "I do not, you idiot! I just don't like Kaneki, so anyone being involved with him, even if it's innocent, is wrong." He denies.
Cadi's eyes roll around her head, "oh come on, Rabbit. That's bullshit, and we both know it. Just tell her how you feel. It doesn't have to be now, but you've got to eventually. Or you'll end up regretting it, sooner or later." She states, before skipping off down the hallway, leaving Ayato with something to think about.
I'm sure she'll just still hate me, though.
