"🇹hank you for always being so good to me," Kaneki muttered softly to Raven after he had started to feel better.
"No problem," Raven beamed, the two of them now standing face to face.
"Raven, I have something to confess." He begins.
"What's that?" She mused.
"I've taken a liking to you."
Raven's eyes widened, a strong heat flaring up in her face. "O-oh um, I thought you and Touka had a thing." She muddles.
He curtly shakes his head, "no, we're only friends."
Raven returned how he felt, but for some reason, she wasn't ready to be with him. It was if her heart had felt torn - as if her heart didn't completely beat for him.
Nonetheless, a smile broke out on her face. "I feel the same way, Ken Kaneki."
A small smile graced his features, beckoning him to cup her face and gently press his lips to hers. The kiss wasn't long but was still gentle and innocent. They then broke apart from each other, Kaneki now looking at her with soft eyes.
"Do you wanna get some air?" Raven offers.
He nods and they then exit his room, making it to the main entrance as Ayato happened to be nearby. He sees the two and takes his chance to intervene before the two are outside.
"Hey Raven," he called, getting her attention while muddling her that he's actually using her name for once.
"Yeah?"
"I... I um," he fumbles on how the hell he's going to admit something as bold as this, but he's struggling to find the right way.
"Yess?" She prompts, now drawing out the one-variable word.
Instead, he loses the nerve like a candle being killed by a strong breeze. "So, where are you and Eyepatch headed?"
Her eyes shift from him to Kaneki and back, "oh, we're just going for a walk."
Tch, probably to bond more. "Alright well, be on the lookout for doves," he cautions.
"We will," Kaneki answers.
Raven furrows her brows in question, "didn't you have something else to say?"
Ayato gives her a shake of his head, "no, that was all."
"Okay," she drawls out, then heads for the double doors. "Well, later then." She adds as Kaneki holds the door open for her, and together they walk out, leaving him standing there.
"Later," he muttered.

🇹he two strolled down the bustling sidewalks of Tokyo, enjoying each other's company amidst the brisk night air. Kaneki wanted to wear his eyepatch for some odd reason, but Raven didn't question the decision.
A paper airplane flowing through the air caught her attention. "You don't see much of those anymore," Raven comments, getting Kaneki to follow her line of sight.
"Yeah," he slightly chuckles, watching it glide through the air.
Then the paper airplane pasts a projection screen, which had the news channel on it. The newslady was talking about an attack that was going to be launched on a particular coffee shop, widening both Kaneki's and Raven's eyes.
"No... no, no, no." Raven rambles, panic stirring in her gut with flashes of all her friends there passing in her mind. "Kaneki, we can't let them die." She adds, with a frantic glance at Kaneki. Kaneki's face hardens in return, as he gives her a nod of confirmation.

🇹he two stood on the rooftop, watching down below as the battle raged on, the lower half of Tokyo bursting with light from a missile explosion every now and then. Kaneki gripped his hand around his mask, while Raven was cupping hers, about to submerge her face into it.
"Would it kill you to crack a smile now and then?" A familiar voice rings out.
The two turn their heads to find Nishki standing a foot away - Raven also on the ground, aside from Kaneki standing on the top of a post.
"What are you doing here?" Kaneki asks, beating Raven to it.
Nishki lets out a chuckle, "catching up with an old friend," he answers, cracking a ghost of a smile.
"Well, I hate to break this nice moment, but I should help them," Raven interjects, now wearing her mask.
"It's kind of too late for that," Nishki exhales a huff.
A scoff escapes her, "what, so I just stand back with you two and watch Anteiku burn while its members get slaughtered? Fuck that, I'm not gonna be a bystander."
She turns to get a running start and launch off the roof, but a hand of Kaneki latches onto her wrist, stopping her. She looks at his hand, then her eyes travel up the arm to look into his stormy gray eyes --- eyes that hold concern.
"I don't want to risk losing you," he states.
"You're not going to," Raven retorts then turns on her heel once more, Kaneki now taking his hand off her wrist.
As the two remaining ghouls watched her leap off, Nishki's voice spoke. "Did something happen between you two?"
"Yeah,"
"I knew it would happen eventually," Nishki cracked a smile, earning a slight roll of the eyes from Kaneki.
