             The Choice

I wait as the skies turn a dark shade of gray,

On what was supposed to be a great day.

Misery overwhelms me.

I hide and lock the door not knowing

What to look for,

In my room, My palace of doom.

Bad memories pop into my head,

I try to sleep on my bed.

The memories are like  horror movies,

Scare you, and bring you down.

They make you fall to the ground

But you can’t let the past get to you.

You must move on,

You must stand strong.

Then ask myself,

Should I open the door?

And with that enjoy life like once before?

Or should I stay and just lay?

I made up my mind,

I leave the past behind,

I open the door and looked

out into the great the life to explore

Now instead of living life to the dullest,

I live life to the fullest.
