MAIA'S POV::
Just now, Peter walks over. "Hey Maia. Jordan." He nods his head at us.
"Hey Peter," I reply.
"How are you liking the party so far?" He asks.
I love it. I met a hot guy.
"It's pretty cool. People here are cool."
Some guy walks up to Peter, grabbing his arm and saying something in his ear. Not in an aggressive way, just so he could hear him. Peter nods, and the guy just stands there for a moment.
"I'll be back to check up on you in a bit. Gotta go!" He yells as the guy drags him away.
"What was that all about?" I ask Jordan.
He shakes his head, shrugging as he takes a sip from his red solo cup.
"Want something to drink or eat? I'm getting pretty hungry myself." He asks.
My stomach grumbles at the thought of food. I guess I was so excited that I forgot how hungry I really am.
"Sure," I reply.
He walks me over to the barbecue. I end up with a cheeseburger and some fries on my plate, with some punch. His has a hot dog and some fries. We sit down on one of the lifted sets of chairs and tables, and start eating.
JORDAN'S POV:
She takes a bite of her burger, and the look on her face is priceless. "This is amazing! For a food as plain as the burger, I give you props for making it so delicious."
I laugh. "Thanks."
She's beautiful. Her eyes are a beautiful blueish green. Her brunette hair is long and wavy, and it gets blonde at the end. You can tell it's not the fake kind of ombré, but the real kind. The one that shows history.
"So what part of Texas are you from?" I ask.
"Amarillo." She replies. It's now that I notice she has a bit of an accent.
I laugh.
"What?" She says, freezing.
"Nothing."
She drops the small piece that's left of her burger.
"What?"
"You have an accent." I say.
"Yeah?"
"I didn't notice it before."
"Ya. Not a lot of people do. It's kinda small." She says.
"Are you finished eating?" I ask.
"Ya."
"Good. Follow me."
We get up and throw away our trash, and she follows me.
