ONE

—————————

hermione paced back and forth across the living room of the burrow. ginny sat on the couch in which hermione paced in front of. "give it a break will you hermione?" ginny asked. "you're making me nervous." "sorry," hermione sighed sinking onto the couch next to her bestfriend. "how are you not nervous?" she questioned turning towards the red head. ginny merely shrugged. "whatever happens, happens. we can't stop the ministry from doing anything, so might as well accept it." ginny looked up meeting hermione's eye. she could she the nervousness in the brown eyes she held a gaze with. "the ministry is picking who we live with and quite possibly marry!" hermione huffed as she started to fiddle. ginny placed a hand on her bestfriends back. "mione, it's going to be okay. stop stressing yourself out so much. it's only going to make it worse. i'm sure you and ron will be fine." she gave her a reassuring smile. "you're right, i'm overreacting. thanks gin," hermione replied pulling ginny into a hug.

the next day rolled around and hermione felt her anxiousness flood back through her. she took deep breaths trying to calm herself as she picked out an outfit for today. she settled on a pair of ripped jeans and a flowy grey shirt. she slipped on her white high top vans before exiting ginny's room. she bumped into ginny at the top of the stairs who had just come out of the bathroom. ginny's outfit was similar except her ripped jeans were black and her shirt was white. her shoes were white lowtop converes.

"how are you feeling?" ginny asked as the two girls made their way downstairs. hermione only shook her head and sent her friend a small smile. the girls sat down at the table, ron to hermione's right and ginny to her left. harry was already there seated next to ron.

"breakfast," mrs. weasley said as she served them all eggs and bacon. the four of them dug in not saying much as they all ate. after they ate and cleaned up, harry and hermione thanked mrs. weasley for breakfast and her hospitality. "oh, it was my pleasure dears!" she embraced the two of them before doing the same to her two youngest. "good luck today!" she called out as the four of them waved goodbye, ready to dissaperate.

they landed inside the ministry. "this way," harry said gesturing towards the elevators. hermione moved forward to follow harry, but someone grabbed her arm holding her back. she turned back to see ron holding her arm. he grabbed ahold of her hand as they walked a few paces behind ginny. " i want you to know that whatever happens today mione," ron paused to look at her before continuing, "we're going to be alright." she smiled up at him giving his hand a squeeze as they stepped in the elevator occupying harry and ginny.

harry hit a button and the elevator started decending. it stopped momentarily to let two others on. "harry, hermione, ron, ginny!" they heard the cheerful voice of neville say as he and luna entered their elevator. "hello," luna greeted, her mystical voice carrying through the lift. "hey guys," ron greeted as they all smiled fondly at the couple, their hands intertwined. "nervous?" luna questioned glancing around at the tense faces. harry shrugged and hermione nodded in response. "everything will be okay," ginny replied quietly. luna smiled softly at her before nodding as the elevator came to a stop on their level.

the six of them exited the lift as it whooshed back up. hermione felt ginny appear next to her. ron let go of her hand, so she could talk to ginny. she smiled gratefully at him before turning her attention back to ginny. "we'll talk all about it after," ginny reassured. "i'll be right here through all of it." hermione looked up from the ground and smiled at ginny. "same for you," she said reaching to find ginny's hand and giving it a squeeze before they walked into the court room.
