Drowning In A Flood Of Pain 6-29-19

Thunder rolled inside my heart,
The rain clouds let the rain go,
And the storm ate away at my soul.
I sobbed and sobbed as the lightning struck me over and over.
I thought I heard laughter in the howling wind.
I could feel the claws of the hatred that the storm has towards me.
Every time I got closer to him,
The more the storm picked up.
Trying to pull me away,
Trying to keep me away.
I tried fighting,
But in the end ...
I was swept away,
I was caught in a flood.
I was swept away and pulled under the currents.
I drowned and my flame went out.
I tried,
But everything pulled me away.
Now we are apart and there's never going to be a change.
We will always be distant and I'll never get to really talk to you.
I'll never be the reason why you smile,
Or laugh.
I'll never know how it feels to make you happy,
Ever again.
