Marcus POV

I was reading the case file of the Thompson case when I heard my phone beeped, it was a text message from Maria telling me that I had to meet my sister for lunch today.

Angela, my sister, has been calling me nonstop for the past few days saying she was back and wanted to have lunch when I was free. I haven't seen her in about two years and now that she was here I am going to see her more often, whether it was my choice or not.

I got ready and started walking to the restaurant Angela chose, while I was wondering why she wanted to dine in Cinco's. She very well knew I avoided that restaurant like crazy because it reminded me too much of Vea. It may be weird for people that while I missed her I still avoided some things that will remind me of her. The thing is I only avoided the memories wherein it constantly reminds me of her unknown gestures that shows me she liked me. The unknown gestures that I only realized when she left.

-Flashback-

5years ago

"Vea, so do you like a guy? I mean you don't like any of the guys I set you up with, you always have a something to say. So I'm guessing there is a perfect little guy in your head that makes you not see the others willing to line up to get their chance with you." I said

I was trying to make conversation while we were waiting for our food to arrive in our favorite restaurant Cinco's. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs while Vea ordered their Bolognese pasta.

"I am so not telling you that. The only reason why I don't like going out with your friends is because all of them are players like you." She said in a teasing manner

The thing is I used to be a player, but that was until I met Vanessa. You could say she tamed me from my player ways, what more can a guy ask for? Great body, beautiful face and equal in our stand in society, perfect couple as our friends put it. The IT couple.

"That was before, so I guess it's safe to say you do like someone. You didn't even bother answering my question. So when will I meet him?"

"You will never meet him because he doesn't know I like him. And I know for a fact he will never notice me." She said trying to end the conversation.

I guess you can say the conversation was over since our food arrived and we were really hungry.

-End of flashback-

I saw Angela on the side texting and when she glanced my way she smiled like crazy. She stood up and gave me hug like she hasn't seen me in ages. I guess that's one thing you have to love about her she would really make you feel special when she hugs you.

"I missed you so much, how are you big bro?"

The closer I looked at my sister all I can say is that she hasn't changed much except her used to be long hair was now cut short before her shoulders. She was still the petite little thing I used to irritate when we were younger.

"I'm good, how about you? When is your graduation for that masters course of yours?"

"Next week so I am now job hunting again, so that rents would stop bugging me in joining the firm. You'd think they get that I didn't work for them when I didn't take law and to a business degree, but no they still had to assume."

Our conversation was like that, all about her adventures in Boston while studying and my work as a lawyer. I have to say I missed the food of Cinco's even more the company I used to have, but spending time with my sister is making me forget about it for now.

I was walking home when my phone beeped. It was Maria again telling me this time that the lawyer of the victim's family from the Montgomery firm was changed into a certain Atty. Matthews. Maria didn't go into details on the background of the new lawyer just enough for me to know that I will be seeing Vea once again soon.

Vea POV

"Mitch how many times do I have to tell you to eat your vegetables? You cannot just pile them up to one side and not eat them." I said

Mitch can be very stubborn when she wants to be, I guess she does take after my sister that way.

"But mama, I don't like broccoli, carrot, and whatever those things are." Said the little spit fire

"Fine, just go get cleaned up for bed." I said massaging the bridge of my nose. Mitch can really brighten my day as well as give me a headache.

As I closed the door of the little munchkin I cleaned up and started reading the case file of Thompson. I was going to represent the victim's family, the Rodriguez family, and they were set that the one who killed their daughter was the ex-husband Oliver.

As I was finishing, something caught my eye, the one representing Oliver Thompson was none other than Atty. Marcus O'Connor. I guess I was going to see him after all this time, can I truly say I have fully moved on?
