"if i was dying on my knees,
you would be the one to rescue me."
$$$$$$$The next day at school, she was suffocating.
Tiny tendrils of pains smoked up her arms, mouth dried up from all the alcohol she had for breakfast. She carried jack daniels instead of her signature green tea. She watched as anyone she spoke to recoiled from disgust at her breath.
But still, no matter how silently she begged, no one came to help.
She was drowning, she realised. The darkness was becoming like a second home to her, but she desperately wanted saving.
She prayed that someone would save her before she drowned.
By the end of the day, no one wanted to help her. Her kingdom watched the fall of its queen. Comfortably, she watched the downfall of her kingdom - the hierarchy coming to an end, the people frantically searching for direction.
Layla found it creepy, how much the school's current state resembled its reaction to her sister, the former queen's, death. Pupil's thick whispering carried the secret's of this wicked school. Gossip and betrayal the only way the school knew how to survive.
"What're you lot staring at?" Her voice slurred as it cut through the tension in the room. Almost immediately, everyone returned to their business.
She took a swing of her bottle, welcoming the harsh sting as it went down her throat. With booze, forgetting became easy. With booze, she didn't have to drown under its weight.
She kissed her mint green flask containing the poison, and whispered a sweet 'thank you.'

She woke up in the hospital. It wasn't hard to deduce. Eliaz was sleeping in the chair.
"Li, wake up." She saw his heard stir. "What am I doing here?"
"You're awake. I have to call the nurse," he said, standing up groggily.
"No wait, just get me out of here," she called, but he was already out the room. A short nurse came in almost immediately. She held a clipboard in her hand.
"Okay, darling. Do you remember what happened?" her voice made Layla's skin crawl. She shook her head. "Well you'd fallen asleep in one of your classes and you wouldn't wake up. One of the students called the hospital when they noticed you were unresponsive."
"Okay. What's wrong with me?" Layla hoped they couldn't tell. She might have a bit of a drinking problem, but it wasn't anything she couldn't control.
"We found unhealthy levels of alcohol, and the wounds on your arms had shown signs of being infected. Darling, the doctor thinks its best if you would go to a rehabilitation facility. Due to the fact that your parents couldn't be contacted, we've left the decision to your brother. There's nothing much I can do, but you will be discharged today." The nurse left. Layla has tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry," Eliaz said as he appeared back in the white room. "It's for the best. I'll take you tonight, and I'll send your stuff in." He gave her the look, and she knew arguing was futile,
She gave him a weak nod.
A/N -the story should pretty much take of from the next chapter. Will be posting tomorrow.
