Kyle's POV

After the other day, Stan’s little drunk stunt has sort of worried me, we haven't talked much lately, which hurts a little honestly but I feel like it's too awkward to talk about.

Getting to school, I was surprised that I wasn't the first one there tomorrow, though Kenny and David were both off, sick.

Stan was doing the same thing as the other day, he was up on the table, singing with a wooden spoon again, this time it was a different song…

“You're the first one
When things turn out bad
You know I'll never be lonely
You're my only one
And I love the things
I really love the things that you do
Oh, you're my best friend

Ooh, you make me live–”

I face palmed myself. “Please stop…”
Stan threw an arm around me, continuing to sing into the wooden spoon.

Why is this happening to me…?!

I removed his arm sighing.
“Do you wanna help or go home?” I ask.
“Sure, I'll help~” he grinned, cupping my cheeks and leaning in. I imediately stop him pushing him away.
Was he really about to kiss me?

“Stan, I don't know what the hells running through your mind but I can't deal with you like this! I don't understand why you even bothered showing up today-” I grabbed his hand, dragging him over to the corner of the room, putting a cup of cold water in his hand.
“Stay in this corner and don't move.”
“Okay, mom!” Stan snickered.

I rolled my eyes, walking back over to the table to start cooking.
Stan just continued to be irritating, but from a safe distance.

Why did it have to be just me and Stan in…? I wouldn't mind if we were together but…

It wasn't long before I could hear Stan groaning.
“You okay…?” I ask, not looking over.
I heard Stan’s footsteps walking over.
“Sorry… I was drunk again…” Stan admitted. He stopped beside me and sighed.
“It’s actually coming back to me now…”
“So you're gonna help now?” I ask, picking up a cupcake, shoving it towards his face without warning. “Try this one for me”
“Sure, my head hurts though…”
“I’m not surprised…” I sighed.

After checking the cake like I'd told Stan to, I handed him a big bowl of mixture and a tray. “Mix this up properly, pour it into the trays then make some more”

We have to work really hard since there's only two of us…

David phoned in to apologise for not coming in and that he'd be back in tomorrow but he had a cold, I said it wasn't a problem and told him about Stan showing up drunk again. He asked if it was just us to in and I ended up lying, nervously telling him that Kenny was gonna be coming in soon, though I really doubt he would. We then hung up and got back to work.

After making a lot of cakes, we started decorating them.
I was busy mixing up some frosting while Stan kept an eye on the last few batches.

I took a spoonful of frosting out the bowl to taste it, then poured half into another bowl, handing it to Stan.
“Can’t we take a break?” Stan complained.
“Sure…” I sighed. “We’re pretty much done anyway, c’mon let's go get lunch-” I turned to walk out but Stan stopped me.
“Wait, you've got a tiny bit of frosting on your face-” Stan reached to wipe it off, in a slight panic I slapped his hand away.

Seriously, I'm not handling this well at all…

“Dude?!” Stan yelled. I didn't respond. I didn't respond or say a single word to him during lunch. We just lined up for food in the cafeteria, found an empty table and sat, avoiding eye contact.

I soon took my phone out, texting Kenny.

Me: Kenny!
Me: WAKE THE FUCK UP
Me: And get your ass into school now!
Kenny: Why???
Me: I just need you to, I can't be alone with Stan!
Kenny: But it's already lunch, there's no point in turning up at this point
Me: Fine then but you better be in tomorrow! -_-

After lunch was over, I started washing up trays, bowls and everything else used to make cakes, Stan finished decorating them.
We took the cakes around the school, teachers first and then students. Cartman laughed at us, saying cakes were girly, he still had some though. Wendy tried to flirt with Stan for a while, I tried not to let it bother me, but it did. It wasn't long before school was over, I parted with Stan with a silent “See you tomorrow” he was still talking to Wendy though. I somehow ended up walking back with Cartman, we didn't say much either but it somehow seemed less painful than being around Stan.
