Heroes Reborn

Walking through the hallways at school I can hear the whispers of girls talking about how great I look or guys talking in envy towards me, either way, I know for damn sure that I'm hot. My name is Caleb Solos, and although I don't play for any teams in this school, being sexy is good enough.

This morning however, I've been kinda creeped out, I've had music I've never heard of stuck in my head and I woke up with a tattoo of the sun on my biceps.

When I got to my final period of the day, orchestra, I wanted to ask my teacher if he knew the song I was thinking of. "Mr.A, I've had this song stuck in my head all day and I wanted to see if you had any idea what it is." I said sitting and bringing my violin up to my chin. When I began playing Mr.A had a look of surprise or aw in his eyes. "Well, any idea?" I asked, somewhat creeped out by the look on his face. "I may have something, but go try playing it on the harp for me would you?" He said with a stern look. "Uh Mr.A, I don't know if you've noticed, but I kinda play violin." I said trying to be sassy to his dumb ass comment. "And I said try it on harp." He responded being just as sassy.

Once I got all set up for the harp I heard the song loud and clear in my head and surely, began playing it like I've been practicing for years. "Just as I thought." Mr.A said handing me a letter with my name on it. "Read the instructions and do as told." He said as the bell rang to go home.

While looking at the letter I noticed the seal was the same sun shaped symbol as my tattoo and began to feel somewhat confused. Inside the letter read:

"Welcome Caleb,

You and others experiencing similar new tricks and marks will be tested of a greater power. To begin, you must come to the highest building in your town and show the mark."

So basically I think I'm getting kidnapped or something? Honestly, I couldn't be anymore creeped out by the tattoo and how I randomly knew how to play the harp, so maybe this all had a somewhat reasonable explanation.

My town was small so all I had to do was climb on top of the Kroger down the street. I began thinking how stupid this must seem but I really want to know what the hell has been going on today. And with that thought, I rolled up my sleeve and revealed my tattoo..nothing happened. I spun a full 360 just in case, still nothing. I was beginning to walk towards the latter but I tripped over an AC unit revealing my tattoo to direct sunlight, it then turned a bright orange color flashing really bright for a second so I couldn't really see, when I opened my eyes, I was surrounded by a group of kids looking just as confused as the next.

There was a large pathway ahead of us, bigger than anything I'd ever seen. "The hell is this" I heard a boy the boy to my left say. "I don't know but I think we need to go to the building at the end." I heard the blonde girl say.

As we walked down the path in awkward silence I noticed we all had the tattoos with different symbols. "Now what?" Another girl said sounding annoyed by the large doors at the end of the path. And as if they were responding to her the doors opened revealing a large table with larger thrones surrounding them. In those chairs sat people who looked as though they could end your life with a thought, people who's presence made you feel guilty, people who looked like- "We are the Greek Gods of Olympus," one shouted. "I am the king of the gods, lord of the skies, Zeus, and these are my brethren." As he said that the rest nodded. "We bring you here today to claim you as our own children." Said a lady with long brown hair. "Lauren?" She said looking at the blonde girl. "I am your mother, Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and War." As she said that Lauren fell into an awestruck silence. "Troy! Where's my beautiful child?" The prettiest of the goddesses said looking through the bunch to reveal a really handsome guy I didn't really notice on the way here. "I am your mother, Aphrodite, Goddess of Love." He too stood in shock. Once everyone had revealed who their child was, Raven and Artemis, Drax and Hades, Elena and Poseidon, there was only me and a smaller left. "Caleb," a familiar voice said. I looked and saw it was Mr.A, now wearing a greek tunic. "I am your father, Apollo, God of Music, healing, and the Sun." He said with a proud smirk upon his face. "Lastly, Violet." Zeus said. "You're mother believes you are able to discover your abilities on your own, as well as who she is. She left a hint, 'Everyone loves a little Greek Trivia.'"

"Now that you all know what your parents are capable of, you should be proud to say you can do the same, more or less. You will each be assigned a weapon and you will work as a team to defeat a common test, and by test I mean Cyclopes, and by Cyclopes I mean Polyphemus. You have exactly one week starting from right now to locate and defeat the Cyclopes." Zeus said slamming a javelin.

We left the big doors again, this time having no idea what we were actually up against of how we would get there. "And so what happens if we don't?" Drax said as we left. "Then we probably get killed by the King of the Gods." Raven said. "Then shall we team, get this show on the road?" I said with enthusiasm in my voice
