(Dedicated to my brown haired best friend)

26th July, 1975

Brian's P.O.V

Today it was Roger's birthday and I was thinking that mabye today was the day of finally telling him my real feelings for the blonde.

Roger and I have been best friends since Uni and since 1972 I've had this crush on him. I liked him, I loved him. Roger was a blonde guy, and he was almost too beautiful to be male. His face was delicated and soft, he had femenine features. But that didn't make him less of a guy, no. If anything, that standed out his angry personality. All in all he was funny, nice to be around, witty, smart, he could be a pain in the ass too, he could be incoherent sometimes, but everyone had defects. And I've grown to know how to treat them when they happened. In breif, I was head over the heals for Roger and it was time for him to know.

I bought him a present, it was a pair of drumsticks and a framed photo of the band, and another one of the same photoshoot but just the two of us, maybe he would get the hint that I liked him.

Fred, Deacy, and I organized a small birthday party at home for Roger. The plan was that John would take Roger out of the house for a few hours while Freddie and I made lunch, cleaned everything up and went to pick up the cake Mrs. Taylor made for her son.

While I drove with Freddie making our way to the Taylor's residence, he had the brilliant idea of interrogating me came to his head.

"Brian, can I ask you a few questions, dear?" Freddie started

"Why yes. But don't take to long, we have about 15 minutes to arrive" this was a bit of a lie but I didn't want Fred asking questions for half an hour, and I had an idea of what he wanted to ask. He really had a very good eye for this kind of things.

"Yes, don't worry. What's been up with you and Roger lately?" I knew it. I had to tell him the truth, after all this afternoon even Rog would know it, and I had to take it out of my chest.

"Oh, that. Uhm, well, I kind of have had a... crush on Roger for the last three years and... you can say this last week has been a bit, uh,  crazy and I didn't hide it very well. Was it too... obvious?" my voice was a bit shaky but I felt better now that someone else knew.

Freddie's lower face was covered with the biggest grin I've ever seen "I knew it!! You two make a very cute couple"

"Fred, I'm planning on telling him later today, what do you think? Is it too crazy? Yes, it is. I better don't tell him, no defenitly not" I was sort of panicking, now. But what can you say? I was afraid of rejection, if he did that I wouldn't be able to look at him anymore, it would ruin our friendship.

"No! Brian you have to tell him, at least take it a shoot. You'll never know if you don't tell him, dear. Plus, Roger isn't that kind of person to just reject you. He'd work something up"

"I don't know, mabye I'll just give him the photo and I'll let him imagine what he wants." I was a bit angry now, I don't know at what. Maybe at Roger for his possible answer or at Freddie for telling the truth.

The raven-haired boy grinned "What photo?"

"I-uh, nevermind"

"Oh, no. That's not how it works, darling. You can't tell me that and leave me intrigued. Now you have to tell me"

"It's nothing. J-just a dumb picture of Rog and I. I'll give him one of all the band and these other one, just the two of us. Maybe he'll get the hint, don't you think?"

"That's so sweet, lover boy. I think he'll like it more than you expect him to. Anyway, dear, concentrate on the road. You don't want to die now, do you? You have a precious picture to give your boyfriend."
