January 13, rain falls on the window as I listen to the sound of it hitting the ground. I stare out the window letting my imagination run wild. The clouds are thick and grey as they start to roar like a lion. The bell rings I had forgotten where I was. Oh that's right school, the place where I could spend the day-dreaming and learning at the same time.

I live life simply it's not about the final destination it's about the journey and right now I'm just along for the ride. Just doing my work and passing classes and not much more. Everything here in this city is pretty dull, there needs some spark, something fun, something that puts smiles on people's faces. And I can't wait till I get out of here and find it.

As the day moves slowly I see the same old faces all the cheerleaders and sports teams and the cool kids all standing in a circle it's so tiring because everyone is just trying to fit in and it's all the same story, the school only cares about the Athletics and not really much else, the cheerleader gets the hot boy and the nerd gets a scholarship and become millionaires running their own company. It's all the same I need something new something away from society and the mainstream high school all I'm doing right now is slipping by.

I go off to lunch I have a few friends that I jump back and forth from. A group here, a group over there, never really saying much just listening waiting for the bell. See I wasn't sure if I was different or just didn't have clique but there's not one place in this school where I necessarily belong. It's starting to get to me as a good thing. I want respect not popularity, I want laughs and smiles and not trash talk and bullying.

It's Friday, or also known as "Friday Night Lights" the big annual football game where you come out and show your school spirit. For me I liked to watch the football and try to get into it. The student section was fun if you knew the cheers and had people to stand with but me, you could find me down by fence below the bleachers watching the game. The screaming and the yelling, the freshman not knowing where to sit, and the parents and students cheering on the team and not to mention the cheerleaders, who actually aren't all bad and stereotypical but still preppy and loud all could be found at Friday Night Lights. After of course there's parties, which would probably be a lot of fun but drinking away the last week and getting high off a breakup or just to do it because everyone else was to celebrate, wasn't my cup of tea and that's all parties seemed to be today.

Step after step I approach my car. This year I was finally a Senior or other know as a 12th grader. The past three years have been boring and I didn't do anything besides my work and just be in attendance, but this year I wanted to do more, get more involved and I don't mean with the school, I mean with people and events and live my life. Unfortunately I'm only 17 but I have a car and a job and want to adventure out but education is first and what's worth having if you have nobody to share it with, and well to say the least I have a loving family but nothing compared to having a boyfriend type. And right now I want a boyfriend to adventure out with but I need patience first.

I get into my car, I get a call from my good friend, Hayden, "hey there's this bash tonight and I want you to come with me you need to get out of that shell I know you're in please!!!" It was almost like she was desperate to make me go. "Why can't you take your boyfriend?" I responded. "Umm because you need this please, you won't regret it, you need to experience new things it will be fun and good for you" she had a point I was in.

She said that she would pick me up at 7 and to dress nice as it was a formal dinner. I had no idea where we were going to go or who's house it was at, and why she wasn't going to football game. So many questions that will just have to wait till 7pm. I went into my closet, I have a lot of things people don't know about me. Everyday to school I just wear the normal t-shirt and jeans or something simple but never mainstream with very little makeup. Guys never really notice me then again not a lot of people didn't noticed me, but they don't know I have a very preppy family and I own a lot of dresses and heels. I decided to pick out one of my dress along with some simple wedges and I did my hair and applied proper makeup. I needed to make a good first impression on who ever it was that would be attending tonight's mystery bash. I'll have to wait an see, tonight was my first step into my new life.
