"What a beautiful day it is today." A young woman told herself while walking through town.

The young woman is currently going through hard times right now. She just lost her beloved cat who she loved very much, that slipped away after battling the complications of old age. She spent most of her days with that cat, playing with him, feeding him, loving him, and just doing everything she possibly could to make sure this cat was happy as can be. The cat was probably the only one who made her happy when she felt down. He was the only one who ever listened to her when she talked to him about her life struggles, although he may not understand what she's trying to tell him, but he never judged. He was the only one who kept this woman in her place.

But now, he's gone. This young woman no longer has a friend to talk to, to play with, and to be loved by. This unruly event is the main reason why this young woman has been avoiding a lot of things and people around her. She's a hundred times more depressed now, and she doesn't know how to fix that. She's thought about getting another cat, but she knew that this new cat wouldn't replace her beloved one.

The young woman arrived at a park nearby and sat down on a bench. She cried as she mourned her late cat.

"How could my life become much worse...?" She murmured, sobbing simultaneously.

After a long while of crying, a young man approached the young woman. She looked up at the young man with a questionable look.

"What's the matter?" He asked. "I can hear you crying from town."

"It's nothing..." The young woman answered silently.

"I'm here to help if you need it." The young man replied. He really seemed like he was concerned about the woman.

The young woman immediately noticed how he really meant his words.

"Do you really want to know...?" She responded.

The young man nodded.

The woman let out a sigh of sorrow and began speaking her problems to the man.

"I just lost my cat, Fluffy. He was a gift from the heavens... I actually had someone in my life that listened to what I had to say, understood how I felt, and never was one to judge. I know that cats can't speak words and probably don't understand a word you're telling them, but he was one that knew when I was feeling down or upset, and he would always comfort me whenever I was in need. Nobody else really had my back like he did. He's gone now, and it's been one of the hardest things I've gone through so far in life... I no longer have someone to talk to and be loved by, and I wish I could just hold him... ONE MORE TIME....!" The young woman spoke as best as she could before bursting into a crying fit.

The young man began to tear up. "I see..." He wrapped his arm around the woman in a way of comforting her.

"I miss you so much, Fluffy..." The woman sobbed.

The man hugged the woman, which shocked her.

"Why are you hugging me...?" She asked.

"This is such a sad story to hear... I feel so bad for you. I want you to know that I will always be here for you, even if I do look like a stranger to you. I'm hugging you because I want you to cheer up, because I'm almost sure that Fluffy wouldn't want you to be upset about this." The man wiped away his tears with his sleeve.

The young woman hugged the man back. "That means a lot to me... Thank you." She said, smiling as well.

"Of course." The man replied. "Don't be sad anymore, this really isn't that bad."

The woman nodded in agreement. "That's true but it's so hard to accept..."

"I understand, but you can't let this control your life." The man responded.

"You're right..." The woman smiled.

"Hey, off topic, what's you're name?" The man asked the woman.

"My name is Veroníca." She answered.

"I'm Fergal." The man smiled.

Fergal pulled out his phone. "Can we exchange numbers so we can contact each other? Especially when you need someone to talk to?"

Veroníca nodded and pulls her phone out. "Absolutely."

The two exchanged their phone numbers. They hugged each other post-number exchange.

"Text or call me whenever you want to talk." Fergal spoke in a trustful voice. "I promise to make our conversations private."

"Alright, and thank you so much." Veroníca was actually starting to come out of her dark, rainy cloud now.

"I better get going." Fergal commented.

"See you later." Veroníca hugged Fergal one more time. Fergal hugged her back and left the park.

Veroníca got up and started heading home. She couldn't believe that she now has someone to talk to about her problems and whatever is bothering her. Fergal seemed like a trustworthy man, there was really no reason to let this opportunity to slide because Veroníca was in desperate need of help. She has it now, and hopefully her life will turn around as soon as possible.
