Avery
Welcome, have a seat and let me fill you in right quick.
My name is Avery Dixon and I'm 26 years old. I have lived in South Side LA all my life. Growing up I had it decent, my parents gave me what they could when they could. They supported me until I went off to college to major in computer engineering. At the age of 23, I finished college with a degree and I felt on top of the world until reality hit hard. I had just got a job at one of the largest computer corporations in the district. All was going well until I meet him. The light of my life, the spick to my span, my whole heart in human form. Kahlil...Kahlil Henderson, we meet at a work-related convention in Dallas, TX. He stood out to me in his true fitting blue suit with his lavender shirt and handkerchief, the colors popped off his honey brown skin. The way he licked his lips made my soul cry out in lust. After several times of being caught staring at him, he made his way to me.
"Is there something on my face?" he asked as he stationed himself beside me.
"Um, N-No"
"Do I make you nervous?" he whispered as he lowered his head by my ear.
"Nervous? No, unsure yes" I said looking away attempting to avoid eye contact with him.
"Unsure? And what are you unsure about?" he questioned as he frowned his face up.
"Unsure, of whether I should give you my number now or later," I said as a soft giggle slipped from my mouth.
"Now, I wouldn't want you to miss the opportunity of a lifetime," He said as he fixed his shirt collar.
"A lifetime you say? What do you have so amazing that I don't need to miss out on?" I asked as I shifted my weight to one side of my body, now intrigued in the conversation.
"If you give me your number and agree to go on a date with me I'll tell you right now," he said as he stared into my eyes as he pulled a pen and a small piece of paper out of the inner pocket of his jacket.
"One thing at a time, okay," I said as I grabbed the pen and paper from his hand.
"Yes ma'am" he joked as he flashed his pearly white teeth.
"See you later, Stranger," I said as I gave him his things back and walked away.
"You'll see me sooner than later" he yelled as I walked away.
After over a year and a few months of talking and dates, I finally gave in and became Kahlil's "shorty". Yet, there was still so much I didn't know about him, and in the end, it tore us apart.
K, I'm sorry Kahlil was one of the most known kingpins in the state of Texas. He sold everything from Cocaine to Angel Dust(PCP). He gave the dope game most of his time and if he wasn't working, he was dodging hits. We argued often since we disagreed on his lifestyle. One night, in particular, the disagreement got so deep, he raised his voice at me and stormed out of his house.
"Kahili, I came all the way here for you to leave me in the house all day. It's 4'oclock in the fucking morning and you just getting here."
"Shorty, the AM is when I get all my sales. The fends have been working all day and they need that late night high. I just had a man spend his whole paycheck in 5 minutes."
"You get a thrill off that shit, don't you? Do you know you're helping people kill themselves? Or are you just so lost in the money you don't even notice it?"
"You think I like doing this Avery? Huh?" he said as his voice quickly filled with anger. "I've tried to get out, but once you in this becomes your life. Everyday all day, in and out of the streets. I don't enjoy this, but what can I do? I'm stuck. I'd give all this shit up right now if I could" he yelled as he paced the kitchen floor.
