As the sun rose, my alarm blared. I roll over, faintly opening my eyes to look at the clock reading '7:00 am'. I sat up, feeling quite dizzy from the fast rush. Walking to my drawers, I rummage for my light brown collar shirt, dark brown pants, and my olive green bow tie. I'm not sure why exactly, but this is the outfit my aunt wanted to see me wear to see her. I take a quick glimpse of the alarm not really getting to see the time. What seemed to be hours flying by as I got ready. I stared at the clock once more as it read '7:00 am'. I run my hair through my bushy short red hair. "How? I've been getting ready forever ago, but no time has passed?" Confused, I sit down on my bed, twirling the chunk of white hair on my bangs. Thinking of a possible reason l, I hear a whisper, "Do what you must, and must what you do." Questioning everything, I look around to see who spoke. But I saw nothing, no one. Then it comes to me, the thing I must do. What that blue butterfly whispers to me... Or what does my aunt call it... Absolum? I have to find a box of some sort. Looking back at the clock, it still reads '7:00 am'. Seems like time is frozen. Considering that, I get up and walk out of my room. "Where would a small box that my mom wouldn't want me finding that was my aunt's?" As I whisper to myself. "Her makeup dresser!!" I whisper excitedly. I push aside the cushioned stool, frantically open each drawer, rummaging for a box that wouldn't open. But every box did. But each was filled with nothing more than jewelry, or pendants. Few pins here and there. Giving up I sit on the stool, slamming my hand on the dresser in anger, staring into the mirror. Then something wedged my side, a secret drawer containing a small box. I grab the box and shut the drawer, walking back to my room. Once safely in my room, I sit down on my bed and try at the box. But it wasn't budging. There wasn't a keyhole, or combination lock. It was just a plain box. In my head, I remembered the thing the butterfly told me again. Thinking again I thought... "I am the real me. There's nothing more.. right?" Examining the box once more I notice that the top has an engraved black rose with blood dripping from it... "Wait! Blood!! Someone can be told by there blood to show the real them." Satisfied with that answer I reach under my mattress for my blade. I examine my wrist for a spot unmarked by pink Ealing flesh and scars, I find a spot. Gently cutting at it, making sure I don't go to deep, I began to bleed. Watching the scarlet bead of blood get bigger than began to drip. Intrigued, I snap out of my trance and put the box on my wrist and hope for the best. But nothing happens. I try again, but again nothing. This will be my last attempt, I put the box on my arm. Angrily I whisper "I'm Ethan Maddrid Hightopp, I must be going quite mad by now? How hard should this be?" Just then as I finished saying the last word it opens. Shocked, I sit up and open the top lid, not knowing what to expect. Inside the tiny wooden box was a key. Examining the key, "Ethan, buddy! I hope your awake? You don't want to be late to visit your aunt." As I heard my fathers deep cockney accent fill my ears. Startled, I rush and shove the key back in the box, sliding it under my bed. Just as the door came flying open. My dad just stands there, surprised I'm awake, I smile. "Well I see your already awake! Well just give me a minute to put my shoes on and we can leave a bit early. Maybe stop somewhere for breakfast. How does that sound bud?" I nod acknowledging him as he walks out the room. Remembering the weird time freeze, I look at the clock. And to my surprise it read '7:45'. "What? How!!??" Shrugging it off. I get up and walk out to the car.
